The Academy Museum Gala returned to Los Angeles for its fifth year, drawing a constellation of actors, musicians and designers in celebration of cinema’s legacy. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco made a radiant appearance as newlyweds, joined by Demi Moore, Kendall Jenner, and Greta Lee among the evening’s glamorous guests.

This year’s honourees reflected the breadth of artistic influence across the industry. Bruce Springsteen was awarded the inaugural Legacy Award for his genre-defining contributions to music and storytelling, and later took to the stage for a live performance.

Penélope Cruz received the Icon Award, recognising her global cultural impact, while Bowen Yang was presented with the Vantage Award for his fresh, transformative voice in film.

The Luminary Award went to visionary director Walter Salles, celebrated for expanding the possibilities of cinematic craft.

The blue carpet offered its own masterclass in modern glamour. Kaia Gerber wore ethereal white lace and a cape by Sarah Burton for Givenchy, a subtle homage to Audrey Hepburn’s 1954 Oscars ensemble. Zoë Kravitz chose voluminous Saint Laurent ruffles, while Michelle Monaghan embodied romantic drama in a floral Carolina Herrera gown.

A more avant-garde mood emerged among certain attendees. Jenna Ortega wore a Grace Ling sculptural breastplate and soft skirt, Rebecca Hall appeared in a painted Thom Browne creation, and Kim Kardashian made a dramatic entrance veiled in Maison Margiela couture.

Ahead, the most memorable looks from the 2025 Academy Museum Gala.
