AFL’s night of nights, The Brownlow Medal, is here and while many fans of the football code are holding out to see who takes home the coveted gong, our focus is firmly on the red carpet.
Once a low-key affair – think demure cocktail dresses and classic black tie, more “awards night dinner” than “fashion spectacle” – as AFL’s profile has grown, so too has the glamour.
Now, the glitz of the Brownlow’s red carpet is always a sight for fashion-lovers to behold as the wives, girlfriends, mums and friends save their most striking looks to Melbourne’s Crown Palladium. Think sweeping gowns, sky-high heels, and enough sequins to rival a disco ball.
The 2025 red carpet may feature a few familiar faces including Bec Judd, wife of former AFL star, Chris Judd and influencer Mattie Gouman who is dating Carlton’s Harry McKay. Then, there’s the question of whether Brownlow contender Bailey Smith will bring rumoured new flame, Tammy Hembrow.
If last year’s fashion moments were anything to go by, expect a heady mix of Hollywood glamour, homegrown cool, and just enough risk-taking to keep us gasping.
