Few stars command a red carpet quite like Margot Robbie does. Her style evolution has played out much like the namesake of her latest film – as a big, bold, beautiful journey.

Never shy of risk, she’s built a fashion gravitas that feels equal parts fearless and self assured, while still maintaining the laid-back Aussie cool, easy-going factor she is known for.

With the help of long-time stylist Andrew Mukamal, the actress has seamlessly shifted from ingénue to industry style force, blending taste with experimentation at every recent red carpet.

Mukamal being the same genius who turned her Barbie-era wardrobe into a cultural moment, the stylist has continued to refine her fashion identity by balancing archival treasures, with contemporary couture.

In the lead up to the success of the 2022 hit film, he spoke of their enduring collaboration, “Margot and I marathoned through 50 or 60 outfits”, he recalled of their Barbie fittings. An effort that paid off in dividends and proved the meticulous work behind her most striking moments during that press tour.

Her ascent began long before her current reign. After being dressed by Calvin Klein for the 2016 Met Gala and later starring in their ad campaign, it wasn’t long before she was being scouted by major international fashion houses.

Chief among them, Chanel. In 2018, the brand appointed Robbie as a brand ambassador for the iconic French fashion house, ensuring that most, if not all red carpet appearances saw the actress arrive in a custom or couture look.

Since then, her looks have undoubtedly evolved from laidback mini dresses to show-stopping gowns. That being said, while her aesthetic will continue to grow alongside her, we know she’ll always be that down-to-earth, girl-next-door Aussie girl that we know and love.

Below, Margot Robbie’s best fashion looks to date.

Margot’s post-baby comeback began in Los Angeles, where she wore a sculptural Stella McCartney LBD with semi-sheer corsetry, padded hips, and a sheer midriff. Minimal accessories let the silhouette do the talking, bringing strength and refinement in equal measure.

At the London premiere of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, Robbie stunned in one of Giorgio Armani’s final couture creations: a crystal-encrusted sheer gown with an open back and matching bejeweled thong, a fearless tribute to the house.

For the New York stop, she turned to Mugler’s Spring ’98 archives, wearing a black-and-white corseted gown with thigh-high slits and a plunging neckline. Styled with a sleek updo and minimal jewelry, it was vintage glamour reimagined.

The day after her premiere, the actress stepped out in a black-and-white Phoebe Philo–era Celine minidress, paired with oversized sunglasses, a bold cuff, and a color-block tote. A playful contrast to her high-drama evening look.

On a more intimate rooftop setting, her star stripped back the glamour in reworked vintage lingerie style pieces from Mugler complete with soft waves, letting subtle silhouettes and texture do the work.

While promoting her latest project at BBC Radio One in London, Robbie kept it casual in a fitted tan Chanel knit top and high-waisted jeans, a laid back look that still carried her signature polish.

For a Sydney photocall, Robbie swapped gowns for sharp tailoring in a Vivienne Westwood black corset paired with wide-leg trousers, a sleek departure that proved just as impactful as her couture moments.

Finishing off the Barbie award-season run, Robbie chose a black sequinned Versace gown at the 2024 Oscars. She complemented it with a gold cuff and beachy waves, stepping away from her usual pink colour palette in favour of dramatic elegance.

For the annual Oscars luncheon in 2024, Robbie embraced classic Chanel in a bubble-gum-pink tweed skirt set. Playful yet polished, the look nodded to her Barbie press-tour palette while grounding it in timeless Parisian chic.

During the Barbie press run in LA, Robbie embraced full fantasy in a Schiaparelli hot-pink mini with a sculpted bodice and dramatic rosette detail, playful and bold, and instantly one of her most talked about looks.

At the European premiere in London, she turned to Vivienne Westwood for a corseted gown in a blush satin with trailing drapery. A romantic old-Hollywood take on archival Barbie glamour that proved one of the tour’s most memorable moments.

Throwing it back to one of her classic looks, at the 88th Academy Awards, she turned heads in a long-sleeved Tom Ford gown drenched in liquid-gold sequins. Paired with a sleek clutch and loose waves.

Her former stylist at the time Kate Young, cementing this as one of her most iconic looks.

Back on home soil, at the AACTA awards, she shimmered in a custom Vivienne Westwood gown with a corseted bodice and sequin draping. The structured silhouette and liquid metallic finish struck the perfect balance between vintage glamour and contemporary edge.

In a rare behind the look behind stylist Mukamal’s instagram, Robbie embraced playful polish in a bubble-gum-pink Versace mini skirt with a cropped blazer top. Styled with peep toe pumps and sleek strands. A nod to the midriff style that took over the Barbie press tour.
