Venice Film Festival 2025 has arrived and has already begun to deliver a refined red carpet narrative. Once again the Lido is expected to transform into fashion’s most coveted runway. On the heels of a chic summer festival circuit that saw red carpets from Cannes to Lacarno dominate headlines, Venice arrives as the season’s crowning style moment. Against the backdrop of gondolas and golden light, Hollywood’s biggest names are bringing their most memorable moments to the forefront.
From Amal Clooney’s butter yellow Balmain debut to Noomi Rapace in her signature paired back tailoring, the festival is already setting the tone for fashion’s biggest hit makers. This year’s biggest style moments are closely tied to the films generating the most buzz. Chief among them is Yorgos Lanthimos’s Bugonia, starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, which has already been tipped as the frontrunner for awards season.
The film’s premiere promises not only the classic intrigue consistent with Lathinmos’s work, but also some of the most-watched fashion moments of the festival, with Stone expected to deliver another custom Louis Vuitton look that cements her as one of the festival’s biggest it girls.
Before the premieres take over, the spotlight is on the arrivals. From custom gowns to bespoke accessories, the opening days of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival have already set the fashion agenda. Here are all the best looks so far.
