Louis Vuitton’s Newest Handbag Is Here – And It’s Got History In The Handle

Proof that great style is always going somewhere

There are bags you wear, and then there are bags that take you places – even if you’re only dashing from home to office. Louis Vuitton’s new Express bag does both. First seen on the brand’s Fall/Winter 2025 runway, it’s a nostalgic nod to the House’s heritage of travel – with a modern twist.

Designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, the Express is more than just a pretty carryall. It revives the original name of the iconic Speedy (yes, before it was the Speedy, it was the Express) and borrows the DNA of the Keepall. The result? A smart, slouchy hybrid made for women who live out of their handbags and always have somewhere to be.

Sized for practicality and styled for polish, it comes in three dimensions and a chic palette of hues – think Hazelnut, Olympe Blue, and that creamy two-tone Ivory that’s destined for It-bag status. But what sets it apart is the craftsmanship: soft, grained leather, plush velvet calfskin, a gold padlock, and subtle monogram touches throughout.

Wear it in hand, sling it over your shoulder, or cross it over your chest – this is a bag designed to move with you. And, like any Vuitton icon, it’s got a story. While the original Express was made for train travel in the 1930s, this one arrives in a world of airport lounges, high-speed trains and platform selfies. The FW25 runway set the tone: models channelling stylish nomads in the Gare du Nord, bags in tow, ready for departure.

Available from 1st August.
