We Love Jacob Elordi As Fashion’s Leading Man

From Frankenstein monster to fashion muse

Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is shaping up to be one of the year’s most anticipated releases, and Jacob Elordi is setting the tone for its global press circuit with his characteristic ease.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York on October 22, the actor spoke about embodying del Toro’s reimagined monster within the operatic, heartfelt and visually dazzling world of Frankenstein.

For the occasion, he wore a black and white Frankenstein-themed knit from Christopher Kane’s Fall 2013 collection, a piece of British subversive chic that subtly nodded to his forthcoming role. Paired with pleated black trousers and polished loafers, the look was deliberate yet unforced, proof that cinematic dressing does not need to be literal to be effective.

Elordi’s approach to fashion has evolved into something close to discipline. He favours the precision of 90s minimalism and the soft decadence of Saint Laurent’s Left Bank cool: fluid tailoring, wide-leg trousers, languid knits and a rotation of natty bags that blur the boundaries between masculine and feminine.

“If it makes you happy, I feel like you should wear it,” he told GQ earlier this year. “Life is too short to wear shit clothes.” The remark, half throwaway and half credo, distils his appeal. He does not dress to provoke but to articulate, using clothes as punctuation rather than proclamation.

In anticipation of the star’s upcoming role, we have revisited some of Elordi’s most memorable style moments from over the years.

For his Tonight Show appearance, Jacob Elordi wore a black-and-white crewneck from Christopher Kane’s 2013 monster-themed collection, featuring the creature’s unmistakable profile from James Whale’s 1931 film.

The archival knit sat slightly cropped on Elordi’s frame, adding a disarming touch of nonchalance. He finished the look with dark denim and leather loafers from The Row.

At the Newport Beach Film Festival, Jacob Elordi embraced a playful twist on his Frankenstein aesthetic in an olive-green Celine suit that felt both sharp and irreverent.

With its wide lapels and sleek finish, the look carried a hint of old-school movie-star flair, while a paisley tie lent an offbeat charm. Cartier jewellery and black Celine loafers grounded the ensemble, proving Elordi’s knack for balancing polish with personality.

Another stop on the Frankenstein press tour saw Elordi in a black three-piece Bottega Veneta suit layered beneath a long, oversized coat. He finished the look with Cartier jewellery, Bottega Veneta’s Roma lace-up shoes and square black acetate sunglasses by Chanel.

The ensemble carried a subtle nod to the 18th-century setting of Frankenstein, blending period-inspired formality with a modern slant.

Arriving at the Venice Film Festival

At the 2023 Venice Film Festival, Jacob Elordi proved that effortless style often speaks the loudest. He arrived carrying a canary-yellow Louis Vuitton Speedy from Pharrell’s debut collection, paired with a cream wool crewneck from Zenga, blue jeans and a baseball cap.

The look was relaxed yet intentional, and the oversized Speedy made a convincing case for men everywhere to embrace the luxury handbag. It was, in every sense, quintessential Elordi.

At Bottega Veneta’s Spring/Summer 2025 show, Jacob traded his usual off-duty uniform for something distinctly Italian. He wore a white cashmere T-shirt beneath a cropped speckled grey cardigan, the sleeves just short enough to reveal a Cartier Tank and gold rings.

Loose, tailored trousers and black leather slippers grounded the look, while a red suede Andiamo bag slung over his shoulder marked yet another addition to his designer collection.

A large brown Bottega Veneta bag hung from his shoulder, while a $9,400 Odyssey suitcase rolled in tow. The look was casual yet carefully composed through thoughtful accessories; a perfect example of his compelling minimalism.
