Influencer Madeleine White has amassed an impressive online following – 5 million TikTok followers, 1.9 million on Instagram – thanks to her unique fashion takes, impressive sewing skills and candid outfit try-ons. And, let’s not forget that time she cut up and repurposed a Prada jumpsuit.
So, when the model turned TikTok star became engaged to her boyfriend, Loud Luxury DJ Andrew Fedyk, anticipation from her followers over the dress was almost instantaneous.
Naturally, Madeleine took her devoted audience along for the wild ride that is wedding planning and dress shopping. But, the reveal would have to wait for the special day – a high-summer wedding against a stunning Santorini backdrop.
It was worth the wait, with Madeleine revealing not one but four bridal dress looks from her Grecian nuptials. The first was an ombré pink Oscar de la Renta dress from the designer’s Spring 2018 collection that she sourced secondhand from Vestiaire Collective. It proved the perfect pop of colour for their welcome party which was inspired by the pink bougainvillea that grows in abundance on the island.
For the ceremony at Cavo Ventus villa, Madeleine wore a gown from Viktor & Rolf’s 2023 Spring Bridal runway, telling Vogue she’d seen and saved the dress well before she was even engaged.
“I reached out to the Viktor & Rolf team to see if I could go to their offices and try on the dress, since it was no longer being stocked in store,” she told the publication. “I put it on my body and knew it was my dress.”
The Dutch fashion house took the dress one step further, customising the piece with 40 hand-appliquéd butterflies – they’ve become somewhat of a symbol for the influencer.
For their sunset cocktail hour and dinner, Madeleine changed into a floral embroidered halterneck dress with backless detail from the bridal brand, Berta. Closing out the night, a dancefloor worthy mini was essential and came in the form of a a pink chain-mail dress from Fendi and Versace’s Fendace collaboration.
