As the first Emily Henry book adaptation to hit our screens, anticipation over the release of People We Meet On Vacation is understandably high. Thankfully, the giddying wait is almost over.

The second adult romance (following her stint publishing a number of YA books) in Henry’s resume, the story of Poppy and Alex has become a favourite among the author’s ever-expanding fan base.

Now with the movie’s stunning leads, Emily Bader and Tom Blyth, taking to the red carpet the countdown to the premiere is officially reaching its final hours.

When Does People We Meet On Vacation Movie Come Out?

In Australia, People We Meet On Vacation is expected to drop on Netflix on January 9, 2026.

As with many of Netflix’s series, it’s expected that all episodes will drop at 12 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) which translates to 6pm AEDT in NSW and VIC, 5pm AEST in QLD and 3pm AWST for those in WA. See the full time conversion for Australian states below.

Australian Time ZoneTime Equivalent to 12 a.m. PT
Australian Western Standard Time (AWST)3:00 p.m. (same day)
Australian Central Standard Time (ACST)4:30 p.m. (same day)
Australian Central Daylight Time (ACDT)5:30 p.m. (same day)
Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)5:00 p.m. (same day)
Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT)6:00 p.m. (same day)

Netflix first confirmed the summer release of the film via their social media accounts with a teaser featuring the voices of our two lead actors.

Scored over a calming beachy backdrop, Bader’s Poppy is heard asking “Where does Alex Nilsen stand on travel? Love or hate?”

“I mean, I’ve never really travelled anywhere. But this morning I saw this beautiful sunrise over this place that I’d never been before and I wouldn’t have if everything had gone according to plan. So love. I’m thinking love,” Blyth’s Alex responds.

What Is People We Meet On Vacation About?

Based on the 2021 novel of the same name by Emily Henry, People We Meet On Vacation traces the long-standing friendship between Polly and Alex.

Meeting during their college years at the University of Chicago, the two friends strike up an unlikely friendship despite their polar opposite personalities: Alex being the rule-following routine focus to Poppy’s free-spirited spontaneity. But you know what they say about opposites..

As a way to maintain their friendship after graduation, the friends hatch a plan to reunite each year at a holiday destination neither have been to before. Spurred on by Poppy’s insatiable wanderlust and travel blogger aspirations, Alex agrees, and so a decade of summers spent coming back together for a week, begins.

However, after an incident on one such trip, a communication breakdown threatens to unravel the dynamic they’ve worked so hard to create (or repress). Years of silence follow, until Poppy convinces Alex to meet her for one last jaunt in Croatia.

In case it’s not obvious, what ensues is a friends-to-lovers trope that ticks all the boxes, and then some, for rom-com lovers of all ages.

Who Is In The Film Adaption?

Announced earlier this year, Tom Bylth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes) is set to star as Alex Nielsen, while Emily Bader (star of the best show to ever get cancelled – My Lady Jane) will play co-lead Poppy Wright.

But the stacked cast list doesn’t end there. Joining the two leads is a roll call of notable names such as Sarah Catherine Hook (fresh off The White Lotus boat), Emily In Paris heartthrob Lucien Laviscount, Succession’s Alan Ruck and Jameela Jamil – just to name a few.

While the rest of the role allocations are still being kept under wraps, here’s where the cast announcements stand so far.

 • Tom Blyth as Alex
 • Emily Bader as Poppy
 • Sarah Catherine-Hook
 • Jameela Jamil
 • Lucien Laviscount
 • Lukas Gage
 • Alan Ruck
 • Molly Shannon
 • Tommy Do
 • Alice Lee
 • Miles Heizer

“I watched their chemistry read four times in 12 hours and I loved it more every single time,” Emily Henry told Tudum of Blyth and Bader’s casting. “The very first time I was laughing out loud, and I got so emotional by the end.”

Ellidy Pullin Breaks Her Silence On The Rift With Chumpy Pullin’s Father https://www.marieclaire.com.au/life/rift-ellidy-pullin-chumpys-father-chris/ Thu, 08 Jan 2026 04:53:45 +0000 https://www.marieclaire.com.au/?p=1502064 A complex conflict

The post Ellidy Pullin Breaks Her Silence On The Rift With Chumpy Pullin’s Father appeared first on marie claire.

]]>

Nearly six years after the death of Olympic snowboarder Alex “Chumpy” Pullin, differing views have emerged between members of his family and his partner regarding the charity established in his name.

Pullin died in July 2020 after a spearfishing accident on Queensland’s Gold Coast. In 2022, his partner Ellidy Pullin launched the Chumpy Pullin Foundation, initially focused on supporting youth sport.

His father Chris Pullin spoke out on January 7 about a bitter family rift that has left him estranged from his granddaughter.

What Concerns Did Chumpy Pullin’s Parents Raise?

In May 2024, Pullin’s parents, Chris and Sally Pullin, wrote to the foundation’s board expressing concern about what they described as a change in the organisation’s direction. In the email, they questioned a shift away from youth sport and towards mental health initiatives.

“Of course heading down the mental health path would not be upholding Chumpy’s ideals,” the email stated. “You cannot use his name to make the foundation popular and then manipulate that momentum to your own ends. If that happens, we would not allow you to use his name, or his image.

“I hope you can understand that Chumpy was a wonderful mentor and inspiration for people around him; it wasn’t mental health. I hope you can fulfil the original promise made to us at the inception of the foundation, a legacy in Chumpy’s name to live by his example.”

Chris Pullin has said the email did not receive a response. He has also stated that following the correspondence, communication between himself, his wife and Ellidy ceased. Ellidy has not publicly commented on those claims.

The circumstances are closely linked to the family’s ongoing connection through Minnie Alex Pullin, who was born in October 2021 after Ellidy conceived their daughter via posthumous IVF. Because the couple were not married at the time of his death, Pullin’s parents were required to give consent for the procedure, which they did.

What Happened After Sally Pullin’s Death?

Sally Pullin died in April 2025 after being diagnosed with central nervous system lymphoma. Following her death, Ellidy shared a tribute on Instagram reflecting on their relationship.

“To remember this beautiful woman is to picture that warm, beaming smile and hear her cheeky giggle,” Ellidy wrote.

“I’ll forever cherish her special family lasagne recipe, and when she’d grab her ukulele of an afternoon and sing Chumpy’s song Four Babies over and over. We’d never get tired of that joyful voice. I love you, Sal…I know he’s holding you forever tight.”

Chris Pullin later told the Daily Mail he was upset by the post, saying: “Half of those photos weren’t even hers to post. She was acting like Sal’s daughter-in-law, but they weren’t married.”

Why Did The Chumpy Pullin Foundation Close?

The Chumpy Pullin Foundation ceased operations in December 2024. In its closing statement, the organisation said remaining funds would be directed towards youth mental health initiatives and outlined a range of programs it had supported, including scholarships, camps, workshops and junior sporting events.

Chris Pullin has said he was concerned the foundation’s focus on mental health could lead to confusion about the circumstances of his son’s death. Pullin drowned after suffering a shallow water blackout while spearfishing.

The Pullins were involved in early fundraising efforts for the foundation, contributing family photographs and personal items for auction. Chris has said he and Sally supported initial plans to create accommodation near Jindabyne to assist young athletes training in the Snowy Mountains, but that those plans did not proceed.

He has also said he is uncertain about the whereabouts of some of his son’s personal belongings following the sale of the Gold Coast home Ellidy shared with Pullin.

“Where all his stuff went I have no idea,” he said. “I’m quite sad about that.”

What Has Ellidy Said About The Rift?

Since Chris spoke out, Ellidy has turned her focus firmly to her daughter, Minnie, sharing a series of gushing posts that highlight their close bond. One especially touching clip shows Minnie telling her mum she is her hero before pulling her in for a hug.

In another Instagram Story, Ellidy wrote over a video of the pair, “You, my little girl, are the greatest gift in the world and I will protect you at all costs.”

Ellidy has recently spoken publicly about entering a new relationship and about moving forward after loss. She has previously stated that she was not closely involved in the foundation’s day-to-day operations.

Netflix Weighs In On The Secret ‘Stranger Things’ Finale Fans Can’t Stop Talking About https://www.marieclaire.com.au/life/entertainment/stranger-things-new-episode/ Thu, 08 Jan 2026 02:19:01 +0000 https://www.marieclaire.com.au/?p=1502044 All good things must come to an end!

The post Netflix Weighs In On The Secret ‘Stranger Things’ Finale Fans Can’t Stop Talking About appeared first on marie claire.

]]>

Following the Stranger Things season five finale, rumours of a secret, unreleased final episode have taken hold online, with fans convinced the ending they were given may have been little more than a decoy.

Perceived plot holes, narrative inconsistencies and, most notably, Eleven’s bleak and ambiguous fate have all fuelled a growing theory: what if the “final” episode we watched was never meant to be the real ending at all?

Instead, many viewers now believe the finale released on Netflix was a calculated misdirect, with the true conclusion still being held back.

The speculation gained further momentum when users noticed something curious on Netflix itself. Typing the phrase “fake ending” into the platform’s search bar returns Stranger Things as the top result. The coincidence has sent fans into overdrive, with many questioning whether Netflix is quietly playing along.

As the theory spread under the viral Conformity Gate banner, the show’s official social media accounts made a subtle but noticeable update. Their bios were changed to read: “ALL EPISODES OF STRANGER THINGS ARE NOW PLAYING.”

The update on TikTok and Instagram was quickly picked up by fans, with many interpreting it as a deliberate response from Netflix to the rumours.

Meanwhile, Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp, who has played Will Byers since season one, has made it clear he believes the story is complete. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter released on January 6, Schnapp said he felt the series ended exactly as it should.

“I remember crying a lot at the final table read. They had us read it for the first time all together and I just think it was perfect,” he said.

He added that creators Matt and Ross Duffer fully closed the story:

“They really left nothing more to be told.”

Show creator Matt Duffer also addressed Millie Bobby Brown’s intentionally ambiguous ending for Eleven.

“The characters can’t know and the audience can’t know because then it puts Eleven in danger and her sacrifice was for nothing. So there’s a point in not knowing. The boys obviously choose to believe. I’m not sure what the majority of people are thinking, but dipping my toes a little bit into social media, it seems like people are choosing to believe and are going to Mike Wheeler route,” he said.

Many had speculated that a secret episode would drop at 8pm EST in the US. However, with that window now passed, it appears the Conformity Gate theory may finally be losing steam.

The comment section on Stranger Things’ most recent official post has since been flooded with reactions, including “I believed until the last minute 😢” and “Honestly? Even if episode 9 doesn’t drop, this whole thing was very fun.”

For now, it seems the collective theorising, sleuthing and wishful thinking has reached its natural conclusion. All good things must come to an end — even Stranger Things.

Teagan Croft Is Disney’s New Rapunzel And Australia’s Latest Breakout Star https://www.marieclaire.com.au/life/entertainment/teagan-croft-rapunzel-tangled-live-action/ Thu, 08 Jan 2026 00:47:12 +0000 https://www.marieclaire.com.au/?p=1502019 We have a new Disney darling

The post Teagan Croft Is Disney’s New Rapunzel And Australia’s Latest Breakout Star appeared first on marie claire.

Australia’s presence in Disney’s live-action renaissance continues to grow.

Fresh off her breakout turn in True Spirit, Teagan Croft has been announced as the new Rapunzel in Walt Disney Pictures’ upcoming live-action Tangled, marking a major milestone in the 21-year-old actor’s rapidly accelerating career.

Who Is Teagan Croft?

Croft’s path into acting began early. At just nine years old, she took to the stage as Scout Finch in a theatrical adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird, a performance that quickly drew industry attention.

By 2016, she had secured the title role in the feature film The Osiris Child and a recurring role as Bella Loneragan on Home and Away, signalling the start of a career moving quickly beyond local screens.

Her international breakthrough came with DC’s Titans, where she starred as Raven from 2018 to 2023. The emotionally complex, half-demon superhero became a fan favourite, with Croft’s performance praised for its balance of vulnerability and intensity. The role cemented her status as one of Australia’s most promising young exports.

More recently, she fronted Netflix’s True Spirit, portraying Australian sailor Jessica Watson in the film adaptation of Watson’s solo circumnavigation. Despite the film’s success, Croft has remained strikingly grounded, previously telling marie claire she was balancing auditions with her first year of university.

Born in Sydney, Croft is the niece of Australian actresses Penny and Jessica McNamee, making her part of one of the country’s quietly influential acting dynasties.

What Do We Currently Know About Disney’s Live-Action Tangled?

Croft will step into the role of Rapunzel, the luminous, long-locked heroine originally voiced by Mandy Moore in Disney’s 2010 animated classic.

She stars opposite Milo Manheim, best known for Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise, who has been cast as charming runaway thief Flynn Rider.

Directing duties fall to Michael Gracey, a filmmaker fluent in spectacle and sentiment in equal measure. With The Greatest Showman and Better Man to his name, Gracey brings a distinctly cinematic, music-forward sensibility to the project, signalling a reimagining that leans into both visual grandeur and emotional payoff.

The screenplay comes from Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, with longtime Disney collaborator Kristin Burr producing, ensuring the film is anchored by hands well-versed in balancing nostalgia with reinvention.

Gracey had previously hinted at conversations around the project in late 2024, telling IF in December 2024 that while nothing was locked in, it would be “incredible” to bring Tangled to life. “There are a number of projects that I’m super excited about,” he said. “With those, you don’t know whether you’re one draft away from being able to jump in and make it or six drafts, so you have to wait and see.”

Tangled joins a growing slate of Disney live-action adaptations, following The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Lilo & Stitch and the upcoming Moana.

Is Teagan Croft Also A Singer?

She certainly is. Stepping into Rapunzel’s tower comes with serious musical expectations, and while Croft is best known for her screen work, music has long sat at the centre of her creative orbit. Speaking previously to RUSSH, she reflected, “Music is as close as I’ll get to religion. There’s this universal feeling that music has, like a universal emotive code that we all can inherently crack.”

She has also spoken candidly about music’s grounding role in her everyday life. Telling marie claire australia that her go-to method for calming her nerves is soundtracked, “There’s this ’90s song I play by A Tribe Called Quest that reminds me to relax. It goes, ‘Relax yourself, girl, please settle down.’” Consider it her personal mantra, and now, perhaps, Rapunzel’s too.

And if early signs are anything to go by, Croft’s turn as Rapunzel may be the role that finally shifts her from rising star to household name.

]]>
It’s 6am on a Friday, and I’m having breakfast with Kit Harrington, Marisa Abela, Max Minghella and Myhal’la. Well, technically, I’m having breakfast, and they’re preparing to go to bed as they dial into our Zoom call from London.

“Morning,” greets Marisa in a crisp white button-down and polka dot tie. On a taupe velvet armchair, Myhal’la strokes her large grey cat, Natalia. “She’s a big, lazy baby,” she quips. Beside her, Kit and Max exchange the usual pleasantries.

The group, who make up the cast of the hit series Industry, are eager to discuss the long-awaited return of the show’s fourth season.

Marisa Abela as Yasmin Kara-Hanani in Industry season 4.

The high-stakes series, which returns to HBO on January 11, follows a group of ambitious young bankers navigating the cutthroat world of London’s elite investment scene. It’s a razor-sharp portrait of ambition, power, and the personal cost of success, set in the pressure-cooker of a London trading floor.

The series starts with a group of graduates as they navigate the chaotic, cortisol-raising energy of the global investment bank, Pierpoint.

Here we meet Yasmin Kara-Hanani (Marisa Abela), the polished yet quietly ruthless daughter of a media magnate and Harper Stern (Myhal’la), a fiercely ambitious American outsider with no family money or safety net, who weaponised her intelligence and deception to survive Pierpoint at any cost.

As the series unfolds, its lens gradually widens beyond Pierpoint’s fluorescent-lit walls, peeling back the characters’ professional personas to reveal the messier realities of their lives outside the bank. Here we see how family, class, trauma and desire shape who they are.

Kit Harington as Sir Henry Muck in Industry season 4.

By the end of season three, Pierpoint has been sold off, leaving the characters unmoored, and we watch Yasmin marry Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington), a troubled yet wealthy aristocratic financier and political power broker. By choosing status and security over freedom, the union leaves her emotionally isolated and further entangled in elite power structures.

Meanwhile, Harper ends season three by joining forces with a billionaire power broker and his shadowy hedge fund world, abandoning sentiment entirely as she steps into a colder, more ruthless tier of financial power.

“Every season, there’s an evolution. We gradually take the audience to this place once they understand who these women are and why they make the choices that they make,” says Marisa.

The brilliance of Industry lies in how it pulls back the veil, exposing finance not just as an engine of wealth, but as a powerful political force shaping the world beyond the trading floor.

It reveals how extreme wealth doesn’t just move markets, but shapes elections, steers public narratives, and quietly dictates who holds power.

Myha’la as Harper Stern in Industry season 4.

“[Before doing Industry] I didn’t know how much people in finance control politics, how much money influences politics, how much money influences the media and how much the media influences politics,” says Myhal’la. “Girl, those one percenters are all scissoring each other. As a regular person, it’s pretty intense.”

For Harper and Yasmin, the pressure of working side by side initially forges their bond, with Marisa and Myha’la drawing on their own working friendship to shape the tension, rhythm and shorthand of the on-screen relationship.

“The fact that we work in the same industry means we have so much of a shared language and an understanding of each other’s lives,” says Marisa.

“Myhal’la is a brilliant actress, and I feel incredibly lucky to work with her. I see a lot of myself and her ambition, and I see a lot of myself in the way that she moves through her career. I’m incredibly proud of her as an actress, but we are great friends. How we met and why we know each other has everything to do with our relationship.”

A new addition to the season is Max Minghella, who you might recognise from his role as Nick Blaine in The Handmaid’s Tale. Max joins the cast as Whitney Halberstram, the CFO and founder of payment processing company Tender.

Max Minghella as Whitney Halberstram in Industry season 4.

Max admits he initially had some trepidation about joining the established cast, mainly due to the dense financial jargon in the series.

“Luckily, I had a lot of emotional support from Mr Kit Harrington. He was unbelievable on this journey of Industry, both off-screen and on,” says Max.

“He held my hand through something that I felt quite intimidated by. Over the course of a season, I went from finding it overwhelming to completely rewarding and addictive. I became addicted to how hard it was.”

In fact, the pair share many scenes this season, with Whitney’s story centring on his complex, multi-layered relationship with Henry.

“It’s a really complicated relationship. It starts with Henry and Whitney needing something from the other; on a shallow level, there are business opportunities for each of them,” says Max.

“But he also admires Henry’s sense of self. It comes from privilege; these are things he lacks and admires. On the flip side, there is a confidence to Whitney that I think is appealing to Henry.”

“[It’s funny] I grew up being very envious of privately educated or public school boys in the UK. Now I’ve developed empathy and understanding,” adds Kit.

Season four of Industry is streaming on HBO on January 11.

While we impatiently await The Summer I Turned Pretty movie, fans of the series may be able to get their Connie Baby fix via other avenues. Actor Chris Briney has officially been cast in a new film, Clashing Through The Snow.

Per Deadline, the upcoming project sees Briney stepping into the lead of a fresh Amazon MGM Studios comedy feature that’s shaping up to be a holiday season favorite.

Billed as a sort of Planes, Trains and Automobiles for a new generation, Clashing Through The Snow will be directed by Carlson Young, best known for her work on Upgraded, and penned by Love Hard writers Daniel Mackey and Rebecca Ewing. Production is slated to kick off in February, with the film targeting a 2026 holiday release—meaning fans might get to see Briney in a very different setting before Conrad Fisher returns to screens.

While details about Briney’s character and the female lead haven’t been revealed yet, the tone and creative team suggest a festive, laugh-filled romp through seasonal chaos that will once again have us head over heels from Chris Briney at Christmas. We can only hope there are many wet-haired and festive cable-knit clad moments involved.

Given both The Summer I Turned Pretty and Clashing Through The Snow are being produced under the banned of Amazon’s MGM Studios, fans can optimistically assume the anticipated post-finale TSITP film timeline is being accounted for.

In December of 2025, creator Jenny Han shared an update on the long-awaited movie adaptation, revealing that while she’s made significant progress on the script, it won’t be arriving as soon as many fans had hoped.

“I just wrote it,” Han said during TheWrap’s 2025 Power Women Summit, “we haven’t filmed anything yet.”

Initially fans speculated a Christmas 2025 release may be on the cards, given how significant the holiday is to the series plotlines. However, Han quickly shut this down to avoid any disappointment.

“I know everyone was hoping it would come out this Christmas,” she explained, “but unfortunately, that’s not happening. It’s not possible.”

Call us hopeful, but that could mean Christmas 2026 is a possibility. A Chris Briney festive double feature is now officially top of our wish-lists.

No one could have predicted the box office success of Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried’s thriller, The Housemaid – with the exception, of course, of fans of the original book.

The story, based on the novel of the same name by Frieda McFadden follows Millie (Sweeney), a woman down on her luck who takes a live-in housekeeping job for a wealthy couple, Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). On the surface, it’s a dream opportunity: a beautiful house, steady income, a fresh start. But very quickly, things feel… off.

What begins as a “rich people behaving badly” story spirals into a dark power play full of unreliable characters, buried trauma, and sharp plot twists that completely flip your understanding of who’s victim and who’s dangerous.

Having already surpassed an eye-watering $133 million globally, Lionsgate have now enthusiastically greenlit a sequel to the film.

The film is expected to follow McFadden’s second book in the trilogy, The Housemaid’s Secret, with Sydney Sweeney reprising her role, per Variety.

“It’s been thrilling to see audiences around the world fall in love with The Housemaid and the incredible work of our talented cast and crew,” director Paul Feig said in a statement.

“We’re lucky that Freida McFadden has already extended Millie’s journey on the page, and that we get to work with [screenwriter] Rebecca Sonnenshine and Lionsgate to bring this next story to audiences.”

What Is The Housemaid’s Secret About?

Once again centred on Millie Calloway, the story follows her attempt to rebuild her life — an effort complicated by the lingering shadow of her past.

Drawn into a new role within another affluent household, Millie finds herself navigating a familiar landscape of wealth, control and concealed truths.

As psychological tension mounts, McFadden revisits her central themes of power, perception and vulnerability, proving that escape is rarely as simple as walking away.

The post The Annual Leave Hack That Will Change Your 2026 appeared first on marie claire.

]]>

The first working week of the year has a habit of arriving too soon. For many of us, the Christmas break is the main opportunity to truly switch off, yet it often proves anything but restful.

Between social commitments, travel logistics and family catch-ups, the so-called “holiday” can feel more like a marathon, leaving you back at your desk still craving proper downtime.

As a result, many of us begin the year already feeling depleted, juggling calendars, inboxes and the low-level dread of a year stretching endlessly ahead.

With a little foresight, however, 2026 offers a smarter alternative. By planning your leave strategically and anchoring it to weekends and public holidays, it’s possible to stretch your standard allowance far beyond its limits. In some cases, you can even double your time off without touching unpaid leave.

The secret isn’t taking more leave. It’s taking it more intentionally. When annual leave is booked to bridge public holidays and weekends, short absences expand into long, uninterrupted breaks that allow you to properly switch off.

With careful planning, and ideally a small buffer carried over from last year, those 20 to 30 days of annual leave can translate into close to 60 days away from the office, spread across five generous breaks throughout the year.

At a time when burnout has become almost universal and the boundary between work and life continues to blur, extended rest isn’t indulgent. It’s essential. Ambition thrives on energy, not exhaustion.

So if you’re scanning the calendar and weighing up when to submit those leave requests, consider this your go-to guide for booking time off in 2026.

There’s Never Been A Better Time For A ‘Twilight’ Remake And Kristen Stewart Agrees https://www.marieclaire.com.au/life/entertainment/twilight-remake-kristen-stewart/ Tue, 06 Jan 2026 02:05:38 +0000 https://www.marieclaire.com.au/?p=1501797 The reboot our inner teens need

The post There’s Never Been A Better Time For A ‘Twilight’ Remake And Kristen Stewart Agrees appeared first on marie claire.

]]>
If your formable tween and teen years fell somewhere in the late noughties and 2010s you were lucky enough to live through the cultural phenomenon that was Twilight.

From the release of the first book in 2005 to the film adaptation’s premiere in 2008, through to the final installment of the saga in 2012 and even the ‘Twilight Renaissance’ of 2020, the franchise has become an everlasting cultural touchstone. One that’s begging for a revival.

It’s not just Twihards calling for the films to receive the reboot treatment, with star of the film Kristen Stewart, aka Bella Swan, throwing not only her support behind the idea but her desire to direct the project.

Having just made her directorial debut with The Chronology Of Water, the 35-year-old was asked if she’d consider flexing her new skillset on a Twilight remake.

“I was talking to one of my friends about that movie ’cause it’s on TV a lot over the holidays,” she said. “I was like, ‘How is that aging?,’ because they watch it every year on Christmas with their fam,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

She then went on: ““Imagine if we had a huge budget and a bunch of love and support and … I would love to readapt. Yeah, sure. I’ll do the remake. I’m doing it. I’m committed.”

Twilight

Thanks to his recent press tour for Die, My Love with Jennifer Lawrence, we know Robert Pattinson would be on board, too.

During Vanity Fair’s lie detector test with Lawrence, she asked: “If they were gonna direct a new Twilight, would you do it?”

He replied without flinching: “Oh yeah, for sure.”While the Twilight fandom may not be as rabid as its 2010s peak, the Twihard fanbase is as dedicated as ever. The infamous renaissance of 2020 – spurred on but COVID locked downs giving many time to revisit all things nostalgic and the release of all five films on streaming platforms – proved that.

In fact, a Twilight remake could birth a whole new generation of fans, with many too young to feel the full effect of the phenomenon still wholly aware of its cultural significance.

On reddit one going as far as to ask: “What was the twilight craze actually like? I’m too young to remember.”

The query spurred many fond memories of the era, with one user responding: “There was never just “a” midnight showing. At my local theaters there were so many people they would literally have 6+ showings all starting at 12, 12:01, 12:02, etc”

Another adding: “It was insane, I had a girl offer me $200 to take my place in a crowd just to see Robert Pattinson make an appearance at a mall. And I DIDN’T ACCEPT THE OFFER.”

If you thought Team Jeremiah V Team Conrad was fiery last year, you clearly don’t recall the OGs, Team Edward V Team Jacob. If you ask us, with the return of appointment television and teen romance dominating television, there’s no better time to reignite the debate.

Is ‘Stranger Things’ Episode 9 Coming Tomorrow? The Conformity Gate Theory, Explained https://www.marieclaire.com.au/life/entertainment/stranger-things-episode-nine/ Tue, 06 Jan 2026 01:02:49 +0000 https://www.marieclaire.com.au/?p=1501765 We don't believe in coincidences!

The post Is ‘Stranger Things’ Episode 9 Coming Tomorrow? The Conformity Gate Theory, Explained appeared first on marie claire.

]]>

Stranger Things season five delivered a finale befitting the cultural juggernaut it became— or so it seemed. Across eight episodes, the final chapter unfolded in three volumes, premiering on November 26 and December 25, 2025, before closing with a New Year’s Eve finale on December 31.

With years of unanswered questions to address and the fate of Hawkins, and the world, resting on the defeat of its antagonist, Vecna, the task was undeniably ambitious.

Still, the Duffer Brothers largely rose to the occasion, weaving together long-running storylines and emotional arcs into an ending that felt considered, cohesive and, for many viewers, deeply satisfying.

For others, however, it wasn’t quite enough. A growing fan theory circulating online, dubbed “Conformity Gate,” claims the finale audiences watched wasn’t the true ending at all. Some fans are convinced that another episode is still to come, with speculation suggesting there will be a surprise release tomorrow on January 7.

So, is a surprise episode nine on the way? Here’s what’s fuelling the theory.

@eouji01

Because why else would they include such detail Milkshakegate is REAL, birthdaygate is real, all the gates are REAL 😭 We reacted to volume 2 exactly how they wanted us to 😳 Also what if it’s just Kali and Vecna working together and everything is like a mirage that she’s making us see which is why everything feels off #strangerthings5 #4thwalltheory #fyp #strangerthingstheory #voltagedialgate

Is Stranger Things Episode 9 Coming Out?

Speculation around a secret ninth episode of Stranger Things is fuelled by a growing conviction that season five’s ending is not an ending at all. The fan theory known as Conformity Gate suggests the epilogue is a constructed illusion, allegedly engineered by Vecna, whose defeat may be far less final than the series implies.

Supporters point to a pattern of visual and narrative irregularities woven throughout the final episodes. The Hawkins High graduation scene is a recurring focal point: characters stand in eerily uniform poses that echo Henry Creel’s rigid physicality, while the Wheeler family debut near-identical cropped hairstyles that further strengthen the comparison.

In the epilogue, reality begins to fray. A student is seen holding a blank yellow poster with no clear purpose, and the repeated appearance of the “WHATZIT?” board game has been interpreted by fans as a reference to the children’s nickname for Henry, “Mr Whatsit.” Even the final stack of Dungeons & Dragons books has been scrutinised, with fans claiming the spines spell out “X A LIE,” a pointed reference to Dimension X.

Narratively, the season actively trains viewers to distrust what they’re seeing. Holly’s journey through Vecna’s memories hinges on identifying small errors, such as a merry-go-round rendered in the wrong colour. Similar slips appear elsewhere: a tower pointer changes from grey in Volume One to red in Volume Two. Even Will’s coming-out speech references milkshakes at Melvald’s, despite the shop not selling them, a detail Vecna might remember from his time as Henry Creel when Melvald’s used to be a diner.

“I don’t believe in coincidences… not anymore.”
The line is delivered by Lucas in the first volume of season five as he begins to piece together Vecna’s plan to target Holly. For many fans, it landed as more than just character dialogue. One popular theory thread suggests the moment operates as a subtle fourth-wall break, with Lucas effectively signalling that the details matter, and that what’s unfolding may not be as straightforward as it seems.

Layered with self-aware dialogue that openly questions neat, satisfying endings — particularly Max’s frustration with Mike’s too-perfect D&D conclusions — fans believe the show is quietly commenting on its own finale.

When Is Stranger Things Episode 9 Allegedly Coming Out?

According to Conformity Gate theorists, a surprise final episode of Stranger Things could arrive as soon as tomorrow, January 7, 2026. The date gained traction after Netflix shared a cryptic post reading, “Your future is on the way,” accompanied by a January 7 timestamp, prompting fans to question whether the message was more than a generic tease.

While the post is officially positioned as a promotional spot for Netflix’s 2026 slate, viewers were quick to note how heavily it leans into Stranger Things imagery. Season five posters line the walls, the visuals dip unmistakably into Upside Down territory, and the overall tone mirrors the show’s mythology more than any other title. That could point to the upcoming spin-off, but believers argue it may also signal that the “real” finale is still to come, or at least about to be revealed.

The timing, too, feels pointed. January 7 coincides with Orthodox Christmas, aligning neatly with season five’s holiday-heavy release strategy, which saw episodes land on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. For those invested in the theory, it’s just enough symmetry to keep hope alive.

Has Netflix Or The Duffer Brothers Commented On Conformity Gate?

Neither Netflix nor the Duffer Brothers have acknowledged the Conformity Gate theory, and there’s no indication it played any role in the ending they ultimately delivered.

January 7, then, will determine whether the theory holds any weight — or whether it remains an elaborate exercise in fan speculation.

‘Emily In Paris’ Season 6 Is Happening, But Fans Think One Character Won’t Return https://www.marieclaire.com.au/life/entertainment/emily-in-paris-season-6/ Mon, 05 Jan 2026 23:06:07 +0000 https://www.marieclaire.com.au/?p=1501767 Oui oui!

The post ‘Emily In Paris’ Season 6 Is Happening, But Fans Think One Character Won’t Return appeared first on marie claire.

]]>
If you can’t get enough of gaudy outfits, idyllic Parisian backdrops and hot chefs, you’re in luck – Emily In Paris is officially returning for season six. Although, a huge question mark hangs over the fate of the latter, Gabriel, next season.

Netflix announced the confirmation of a new season via Instagram. In the clip Lily Collins, who plays the titular character of Emily, walks off the balcony of a Parisian apartment, before a Tik-Tok worthy transition shows her on the screen of a phone. Positioned in front of a giant croissant, she seemingly blows out a number six candle.

“Home sweet home EMILY IN PARIS is returning for Season 6!” the caption reads.

While the post confirms Emily is staying put in Paris (for now), no further details on the cast or potential plot lines have been revealed.

Some fans have expressed concerns and theories that the show’s original love interest, Gabriel, won’t be returning for season six. In season five, Emily and the hot chef part ways as he leaves to work on a yacht as a private chef.

“I’m excited for the future, wherever it brings me,” Gabriel told Emily in the season finale. “And I think you should be too.”

The storyline comes after Lucas Bravo, who portrays the character, expressed his frustrations over Gabriel’s storyline, at one point calling him mashed avocado.

“In Season 1, there was a lot of me in him,” Bravo told IndieWire, “But as they made him kind of unaware of his surroundings, of the dynamic, always victimising and always being completely lost in translation and oblivious to anything that is happening around him and being manipulated by everyone, it kind of became not fun for me to shoot or to see a character I love so much and brought me so much, being slowly turned into guacamole. I really grew apart from him.”

Emily In Paris Season 5 Recap

So while the door remains open between Gabriel and Emily – the chef having invited her abroad to Greece via postcard – it may be up to Bravo on whether he returns.

Agence Grâteau’s Roman expansion starts on shaky ground, including a disastrous meeting with Fendi and an exceedingly difficult client in Antonia Muratori. Unfortunately for the agency, it’s a downhill slide from there, ultimately leading the team back to their Parisian base and Emily to end her romance with Marcello. Emily’s friendship with Mindy also becomes strained when she learns her bestie has been sleeping with her ex, Alfie in secret.

By the finale, it’s Mindy who finds herself in the season’s most scandalous love triangle. The singer has rekindled her romance with Nico after he left the family business to prove his love for her before proposing, all the while Alfie confesses his growing feelings for her.

It’s no secret that the start of a new year means a whole lot of new resolutions. But if we’re being honest, some are a lot harder to maintain than others.

Dry January? Let’s just say that hasn’t worked out. No takeaway? So far so good. Committing to working out and going to Pilates more often? Now, that’s one resolution that’s already feeling very doable.

The Best Pilates Pieces, According To marie claire:

Whether you’re new to the workout or a frequent flyer at your local Pilates studio, there’s no denying that we all need a little extra nudge of motivation on certain days. Enter: the stylish pieces that make showing up feel worth it. Because let’s be honest — was it actually a cute outfit if no one saw it?

I’m personally taking inspiration from the LA crowd after seeing what they’re wearing to work out. Kendall Jenner has been wearing a lot of chic Adanola sets lately, while Alix Earle was spotted wearing Crop Shop Boutique (or CSB) throughout her stint on Dancing With The Stars in the US.

Whether you’re committing to Pilates for the first time or sticking with a routine you already love in 2026, these are the best (and most stylish) Pilates outfits to inspire your next move.

The Best Sports Bras And Tops For Pilates

Pilates tends to be low-impact, but that certainly doesn’t mean low-sweat, so keep that in mind when looking for a new outfit. For tops, a sports bra or slightly fitted shirt will usually work best. This will allow you to move freely, while also giving the instructor an unobstructed view of your body to ensure you’re performing each exercise correctly.

The Best Bottoms For Pilates

When it comes to bottoms, leggings or shorts both work perfectly. Just keep in mind that in a reformer class, your legs may be in the air (feet in straps is the best part of class, let’s be honest), so fitted shorts are key. I’m also personally thrilled that flared pants are having a moment, but if you prefer something more streamlined, a classic pair of leggings is fine—take your pick!

The Best Socks For Pilates

Whether you’re heading to a Pilates class or simply prefer not to go barefoot, a good pair of grippy socks is a must-have. Brands like Alo Yoga, Move Active, and Lululemon offer socks designed with performance grips on the soles, ensuring you stay steady and supported throughout your workout—all while keeping your feet comfy and cool.

The Best Sweatshirts & Coverups For Pilates

For a post-Pilates matcha or while heading to class, layer up with a cozy zip-up or cardigan. Go for a relaxed, chic vibe with an oversized sweater or boxy quarter zip, or embrace a softer, more feminine look with a ballet wrap or a ribbed-knit cardigan. The perfect mix of comfort and style for any workout routine.

The Best Accessories For Pilates

If we’re being honest, no Pilates outfit is complete without the right accessories. A water bottle, chic tote and towel instantly say, “I take Pilates very seriously.” Or maybe it just means you’re prepared and one step ahead. Either way, it’s an easy way to level up both your outfit and your motivation.

The post Every Major Astrological Event You Need To Know About In 2026 appeared first on marie claire.

]]>

If 2025 was about learning the lesson, 2026 is about applying it. The year arrives with a clear directive: reclaim your power and begin again, but this time with intention.

While many of the year’s planetary movements echo themes first introduced in 2025, the difference now is perspective. We’re no longer experimenting blindly. Experience becomes a tool, allowing us to make sharper decisions and move forward with confidence rather than impulse.

Astrologically, the year is dense with activity. Three Mercury retrogrades will interrupt the usual flow of travel, communication and technology, creating moments where progress slows and reflection becomes necessary.

Rather than pushing ahead, these periods reward pause, revision and emotional clarity. Planning major trips or launches outside the retrograde windows may help minimise friction.

Even as the pace slows during retrogrades, the year is punctuated by four eclipses, each marking a moment of closure or initiation: an annular solar eclipse, a total lunar eclipse, a total solar eclipse and a partial lunar eclipse.

Much of 2026’s deeper transformation unfolds quietly through the outer planets. Neptune and Saturn both enter Aries early in the year, blending idealism with accountability.

Uranus re-enters Gemini on April 25, reshaping how we communicate, while Jupiter’s move into Leo on June 30 brings a surge of creative confidence. For those born between 1996 and 1999, this also marks the beginning of a Saturn Return, signalling a defining period of growth.

Every Astrological Event Coming In 2026

Retrogrades

Three Mercury retrogrades shape 2026, occurring from February 26 to March 20 in Pisces, June 29 to July 23 in Cancer, and October 24 to November 13 in Scorpio. With all three taking place in water signs, the emphasis is on emotional depth and reflection.

Venus retrograde in Scorpio and Libra from October 3 to November 13 reopens conversations around love, money and self-worth. Old relationships or unresolved dynamics may resurface, asking to be met with honesty rather than nostalgia.

Additional retrogrades from Saturn and Pluto further spotlight relationships, responsibility and long-term transformation.

Eclipses

Four eclipses shape the year: an annular solar eclipse in Aquarius on February 17, a total lunar eclipse in Virgo on March 3, a total solar eclipse in Leo on August 12, and a partial lunar eclipse in Pisces on August 28.

The February, March and August eclipse seasons are especially catalytic, triggering endings, revelations and decisive new chapters across all zodiac signs.

Supermoons

Three of the year’s full moons will qualify as supermoons: the Wolf Moon on January 3, the Beaver Moon on November 24 and the Cold Moon on December 24.

Full Moons

2026 is shaping up to be an especially rich year for moon gazers, delivering 13 full moons instead of the customary 12.

From the dramatic Wolf Supermoon that lit up the sky on January 3 to the largest supermoon in nearly two decades closing out the year, the lunar calendar is anything but ordinary. A rare Blue Moon in May adds to the intrigue, making 2026 a standout year for lunar activity.

 • January 3: Full Moon in Cancer
 • February 1: Full Moon in Leo
 • March 3: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo
 • April 1: Full Moon in Libra
 • May 1: Full Moon in Scorpio
 • May 31: Full Blue Moon in Sagittarius
 • June 29: Full Moon in Capricorn
 • July 29: Full Moon in Aquarius
 • August 28: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
 • September 26: Full Moon in Aries
 • October 26: Full Moon in Taurus
 • November 24: Full Moon in Gemini
 • December 23: Full Moon in Cancer

Aurora Displays

Australia was treated to multiple aurora displays throughout 2025, as the visibility of the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis) aligned with the Sun’s 11-year solar cycle. That cycle is currently in a phase of heightened activity, which peaked around late 2024 to 2025 and drove the surge in sightings.

In 2026, Aurora Australis displays across Australia are expected to remain strong, though they will gradually become less frequent as solar activity begins its slow decline from this peak. Tasmania continues to offer the most reliable viewing conditions, while significant geomagnetic storms may occasionally extend visibility into other southern states.

Planetary Alignment

February 28 ushers in a striking six-planet alignment, often referred to as a “planet parade,” across the evening sky. Shortly after sunset, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune will trace an arc overhead, though some — namely Venus, Jupiter and Saturn — will be far easier to spot than others, with sightings of Uranus and Neptune requiring a telescope or binoculars.

If awards season has become your favourite spectator sport, the Critics Choice Awards are required viewing.

The first awards ceremony of 2026, the 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards which celebrates the best in film and television, are being held today, January 5th, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

Kicking off the season, the ceremony also serves as one of the clearest indicators of how the Oscars race is shaping up, with film critics weighing in on the year’s most talked-about performances, prestige television and breakout stars.

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners leads the 2026 nominations, coming tantalisingly close to eclipsing Barbie’s 2024 record, with an impressive 17 nominations. Close behind is Paul Thomas Anderson’s darkly comic thriller One Battle After Another with 14 nods, while Frankenstein and Hamnet each secured 11. On the television side, Netflix’s one-take sensation Adolescence led the pack, dominating the categories with six nominations.

As for local talent, Rose Byrne and Joel Edgerton each recieved nods in the best actress and best actor category while veritable internet boyfriend Jacob Elordi is nominated for his supporting role in Frankenstein.

What Are The Critics Choice Awards?

The Critics Choice Awards are one of Hollywood’s most influential fixtures, celebrating the best in film and television as voted by professional critics across the United States and Canada. Presented by the Critics Choice Association, the ceremony reflects critical consensus rather than industry campaigning, earning its reputation as a sharp-eyed counterpoint to more studio-driven awards.

Launched in 1995 and expanded to include television in 2011, the awards now occupy a pivotal place in the awards season calendar, often signalling which titles and performances are poised for Oscar success.

Eleven entered Max’s mind remotely using Nina, acting as psychic backup while Lucas and Erica defended Max in the Creel House, and Dustin and Eddie distracted Vecna’s swarm in the Upside Down.

Eddie made the ultimate sacrifice, choosing to fight the demobats instead of fleeing, and died in Dustin’s arms. Meanwhile, Nancy, Steve, and Robin attacked Vecna’s physical body, setting it on fire and shooting him, seemingly killing him, though his body disappeared.

Max became the emotional focus, offering herself as bait. Vecna nearly killed her; her heart stopped, and her limbs were broken. Eleven, devastated, used her powers to revive Max, who remained comatose.

Despite their efforts, Vecna’s plan succeeded: Max’s near-death opened the fourth gate, and the gates merged, tearing Hawkins apart and spreading a red, toxic darkness. The season ended grimly as the Upside Down bled into Hawkins, with the group watching ash-like spores fall — a clear sign that the real war was coming.

Is A Himbo Summer The New Brat Summer? https://www.marieclaire.com.au/life/himbo-summer/ Mon, 22 Dec 2025 22:29:50 +0000 https://www.marieclaire.com.au/?p=1500404 Hot Girl Summer. Brat Summer. Worst Summer of All Time. What are we going to call this summer? We have a suggestion.

The post Is A Himbo Summer The New Brat Summer? appeared first on marie claire.

]]>
Traditionally, the change in seasons is marked by the scent of coconut sunscreen, supermarket shelves overcrowded with Christmas decorations and – in years gone by – a new So Fresh album.

But in 2025, summer announces itself not by rolling thunderstorms cooled by southerlies nor accidental sunburn while we’re getting used to the heat. No, now summer announces its arrival as a brand: think Hot Girl Summer, Brat Summer, even the sketchily named White Boy Summer.

Memes follow, then hot takes, internet discourse and, eventually, mass marketing will jump on the trend and effectively ruin it. Then it’s the end of summer.

This obsession with branding a season has become a phenomenon so pervasive that even The New York Times dedicated a serious word count to wondering what’s going on. Its theory? “The more fragmented our culture gets, the more we seem to crave some phenomenon, however silly, to share,” Daisy Alioto wrote.

Collectively deciding that, yes, this is what we’ll call this summer, is a return to the monoculture: a time when we were consuming the same content at the same time while fostering a sense of community.

Social media has splintered the monoculture into infinite subcultures, making us more disconnected than ever. But a group-branding exercise brings the entire internet together again.

“Which [label] we choose won’t matter nearly so much as the impulse to adopt it [en masse] in the first place,” Alioto concludes. She makes the point that sometimes these labels happen organically, and other times they’re “a brute-force marketing exercise”.

Sometimes it’s both. But does it matter? Think of Charli xcx’s Brat album, with its clear aesthetic and hedonistic attitude.

It was an easy label to adopt for the summer of 2024 – for brands, fans and the internet alike. To determine what kind of summer is in store for us, I turned to Casey Lewis, the American youth culture reporter and writer of the After School Substack, who published her “After School Summer 2025 Trend Recap” in early September.

Given that Australia often takes its cues from American pop culture, her findings for the US can be considered prophetic for Australia.

Lewis spent months parsing more than 500 articles a day, logging every mention of the phrase “of the summer” and “[Blank] Girl Summer”, and found one overwhelming sentiment: teens were calling the summer of 2025 “The Worst Summer of All Time” or “The Summer of the Crash Out”, “citing a brutal job market, political chaos and an overall bleak economic outlook”, she wrote. It’s understandable.

The ongoing global instability and climate catastrophe do not a carefree summer make. Lest we follow in the footsteps of our bummed-out Americans who are now headed into a deep, dire winter, I propose an Australian rebrand.

I declare this summer a “Himbo Summer”. Hear me out. A himbo is a beautiful man with an empty mind and a full heart. He’s earnest, happy-go-lucky and a bit vain.

Most importantly, he’s unencumbered. It’s Vin Diesel posting gym selfies with the unironic caption, “May I inspire you as much as you inspire me … Blessed.”

It’s Barbie’s Ken losing his new-found interest in the patriarchy once he discovered it wasn’t about horses. It’s Seinfeld’s David Puddy, who doesn’t need any in-flight entertainment. It’s Ted from Schitt’s Creek; it’s Phil Dunphy from Modern Family. It’s Travis Kelce, Channing Tatum and Jason Momoa. It’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson openly crying during the 15-minute standing ovation given to his film, The Smashing Machine, at this year’s Venice Film Festival.

This kind of uncomplicated, pure expression of joy and gratitude is typical of a himbo: he is devoid of pretension or self-consciousness; he’s just a guy who’s happy to be there.

And, given the Oscar buzz surrounding the film, he’s about to be everywhere. “The himbo simply is. He does not spiral out on conceptual double-binds; he is grounded in his body and admired for it, exempting himself from throwing stones in culture wars,” Casey Michael Henry wrote for The New York Times (see, serious word count).

“The internet and its endless internecine debates exist within Plato’s Cave. The himbo, meanwhile, is meandering peacefully outside, soaking up the rays.”

And doesn’t that sound exactly like what we need this summer? No thoughts, just vibes. Research in the past few years has also confirmed what we already know: the longer we spend doomscrolling the latest headlines, the worse off our mental health is.

For instance, a 2022 study by Dr Matthew Price of the University of Vermont found an association between the amount of exposure to heavier news on social media and more depression and PTSD symptoms, essentially making the case for us to all follow our favourite himbos out of the cave.

“Much of the content available online is designed to generate a strong emotional reaction – and that reaction is often negative,” Price says, while talking to me about the benefits of disconnecting.

“Although many folks turn to the internet for a break, much of what they find will only make them more anxious.”

Here I’ll note that you don’t need to be a 6ft 4in man with bulging biceps to take part in Himbo Summer. It’s a way of being, a manifesto for life that suggests we don’t need to be so downtrodden all the time.

To behave like a himbo is simple: whenever you feel yourself overthinking, go and literally touch grass. As Price explains, “Taking a true break by spending time with friends, in nature or just away from a screen will restore you in ways that online news will not.”

This is not to say you can’t be engaged with current affairs – many of our pre-eminent himbos are thoughtful, progressive political agents, such as streamer Hasan Piker – but summer should be the one time of year when you can enjoy yourself without spiralling about the end of the world.

Take it from our American friends, who Lewis noted are regretting not making the most of their summer as the weather cools. “It seems as though they’re experiencing a collective realisation: even the worst summer is better than winter,” she wrote.

Megan Gale At 50: Secret Weddings, Motherhood and Her “I Don’t Care Era” https://www.marieclaire.com.au/life/youre-gonna-want-to-hear-this-podcast/megan-gale-secret-wedding/ Sun, 21 Dec 2025 21:00:00 +0000 https://www.marieclaire.com.au/?p=1501027 "The more layers you add, the less it becomes about what it’s actually about"

The post Megan Gale At 50: Secret Weddings, Motherhood and Her “I Don’t Care Era” appeared first on marie claire.

Megan Gale has revealed she quietly married long-term partner Shaun Hampson in an exclusive podcast episode for marie claire, sharing the news publicly for the very first time on You’re Gonna Want To Hear This, hosted by editor Georgie McCourt.

In the candid conversation, the newly-50-year-old model confirms that she and Hampson tied the knot one year ago in a small, intimate ceremony overseas — with no announcement, no social media posts and no public record of the milestone until now.

“Yes, we did get married – married a year ago, a year ago yesterday,” Gale reveals. “Our ideal goal was to have it to ourselves just for a year.”

The couple, who have been together for 14 years and share two children, River and Rosie, made a deliberate decision to keep the wedding entirely private — a choice Gale says felt deeply important after decades in the public eye.

“It is really nice when so much has been public, to not have this shared or over shared, or turn it into content,” she says. “Just to have it for us and the family.”

Listen To You’re Gonna Want To Hear This

“I did my own hair and makeup. The more layers you add, the less it becomes about what it’s actually about.”

The wedding took place at Vomo Island in Fiji — a location that holds personal meaning for the family and offered the privacy they were determined to protect.

“It’s like a home away from home for us,” Gale explains. “We knew the staff, we trusted everyone there – and we knew we could keep it airtight.”

So airtight, in fact, that even their mothers were only told the night before.

“We told them the night before,” Gale laughs. “We said, ‘We’ve got something planned as a family tomorrow’ – and then said, ‘We’re actually getting married.’ No one knew.”

The ceremony itself was intentionally pared back: just Megan, Shaun, their children and their mums.

“It was really simple and really beautiful,” she says. “I did my own hair and makeup. The more layers you add, the less it becomes about what it’s actually about.”

The Moments That Mattered Most

Some of Gale’s favourite memories aren’t the ceremony itself, but the small, joyful moments around it. “Getting ready with Rosie and my mum was really special,” she recalls. “Watching Rosie walk ahead of me towards her dad and brother – that was a moment.”

Later that night, the family abandoned formality altogether. “I jumped into the pool fully clothed and did a huge bomb,” Gale laughs. “The kids turned around like, ‘This is the best day ever.’”

There were vows too — and Gale admits Shaun stole the show. “I read mine thinking I’d nailed it,” she says. “Then Sean read his and I was like, ‘You’ve absolutely knocked it out of the park.’”

Why She Chose marie claire To Share The News

After keeping the marriage private for a year, Gale says she wanted to share the news in a considered, controlled way – and chose Marie Claire’s You’re Gonna Want To Hear This as the place to do it.

“At some point it inevitably comes up, especially in in-depth interviews,” she explains. “I didn’t want to lie, or be caught off guard. I thought, now’s as good a time as any — on my terms.”

She adds that there is still much she and Hampson intend to keep just for themselves.

“Otherwise it defeats the purpose, right?” she says.

“Nothing Changed – And It Shouldn’t”

Despite the significance of the milestone, Gale says marriage hasn’t altered their relationship — and she wouldn’t want it to.

“Nothing changes. And it shouldn’t, really,” she says. “It’s just a ceremony to celebrate your love and coming together as a family.”

The exclusive episode also sees Gale reflect on turning 50, navigating fame, motherhood, boundaries and why she’s fully embracing what she calls her “I don’t care era.”

“I don’t have enough time or energy to care anymore,” she says. “It’s quite liberating.”

She leaves listeners with one message she wants women to hear.

“Be kind to yourself,” Gale says. “A lot of peace comes from acceptance – of situations, of other people’s behaviour, of what we can’t control.”

Denza: The Name Redefining Luxury SUVs in Australia https://www.marieclaire.com.au/life/denza-luxury-hybrid-suvs/ Fri, 19 Dec 2025 03:34:14 +0000 https://www.marieclaire.com.au/?p=1501277 Where quiet luxury meets electric power.

The post Denza: The Name Redefining Luxury SUVs in Australia appeared first on marie claire.

]]>
When we think about luxury vehicles, our minds often drift to Europe — heritage badges, storied design houses and long-established ideas of what ‘premium’ should look like. But a new name has entered Australia’s luxury SUV conversation, offering a refreshingly modern alternative.

Meet Denza, the next-generation luxury technology brand under the BYD umbrella. Denza brings a intelligent hybrid engineering and contemporary sensibility to the premium SUV and 4WD space — one that values refinement, practicality and design without the intimidating price tag.

Designed for how we live now, Denza’s SUVs balance elevated aesthetics with advanced safety and everyday versatility — the kind of features often reserved for far more expensive vehicles. For those looking for an effortlessly stylish drive that delivers genuine value, Denza presents a compelling new option.

Everyday luxury, thoughtfully done

The Denza B5 and Denza B8 are luxury SUVs with true 4WD credentials, created to move seamlessly between city streets, long road trips and weekends off the beaten track. Both models share a sculptural, confident exterior design, finished in muted, modern palettes.

Inside, the approach is calm and considered. Premium materials, tactile finishes and intuitive technology create cabins that feel luxurious without being showy.

Hybrid SUVs

The B5: Refined, capable, versatile

The five-seat Denza B5 is the brand’s most accessible model, starting from $74,990 plus on roads, yet it arrives impressively well-equipped. Designed for drivers who want everyday comfort with the confidence to explore further, it pairs plug-in hybrid efficiency with genuine off-road ability.

An electric-only range that comfortably covers daily commutes is paired with extended hybrid range for longer journeys, making the B5 both efficient and practical. Inside, features such as massaging front seats, premium leather finishes and a large, intuitive touchscreen elevate daily driving into something distinctly indulgent. Thoughtful details — including a built-in centre console fridge — reflect Denza’s focus on real-world luxury.

Hybrid SUVs

The B8: Flagship comfort with presence

For those seeking more space and presence, the Denza B8 is the range’s flagship. Available in six- or seven-seat configurations and priced from $91,000 plus on roads, it brings a more commanding silhouette and an even greater sense of refinement.

The B8’s interior feels closer to a private lounge than a traditional SUV, with features like soft-close doors, premium audio and multi-zone climate control creating a serene, cocooned environment. Despite its luxury leanings, the B8 remains highly capable, offering serious towing capacity and confidence across varied terrain.

A smarter take on premium

What sets Denza apart isn’t just the features or the pricing, it’s the mindset. These are luxury SUVs designed for modern Australian lives: family-friendly, road-trip ready and engineered to do more without demanding excess.

By pairing advanced hybrid technology with thoughtful design and a friendlier price point, Denza proves that luxury doesn’t have to feel inherited or out of reach. It can be modern, intelligent and quietly confident.

Do You Need To Check Into An Adult Summer Camp? https://www.marieclaire.com.au/life/adult-summer-camp/ Fri, 19 Dec 2025 01:06:42 +0000 https://www.marieclaire.com.au/?p=1500435 Yearning for simpler times, adults are collecting fluffy toys and rediscovering high school hobbies. One writer reclaims her youth at a summer camp for grown-up.

The post Do You Need To Check Into An Adult Summer Camp? appeared first on marie claire.

]]>
Balancing my plate, glass and cutlery with the grace of a rookie waiter, I walk into breakfast and scan the space for somewhere to sit.

Every table is full, chatter and laughter resonating around me, and suddenly I’m back at school camp in a retro Australian seaside town.

I’m in Grade 7, the year my friends were all split into different weeks, and mealtimes at long communal tables fill me with angst.

I start hatching a plan to back away slowly and feign a mysterious stomach bug, or maybe melt into the floor like a drizzle of maple syrup when … “Kathryn, over here!” A woman with kind eyes and an American accent snaps me out of my daydream, gesturing towards her table and briskly rearranging the seats to squeeze me in.

Grateful, I walk over and put down my plate, which is piled with golden baguette, wedges of soft cheese and freshly picked apricots – and nary a spoonful of sludgy, syrup-topped porridge in sight. Toto, I have a feeling we’re not at school camp anymore.

Instead, I’m at Camp Château, a summer camp for women in the countryside of south-west France. Each week, some 50 women from across the world descend on a 13th-century château in the Quercy region and spend their days crafting, kayaking and bonding under the glorious Gallic sun.

Nights are like teenage sleepovers in shared dorm rooms – albeit charming ones decked out in time-worn antiques and with shuttered windows that open onto views of the honey-hued hills.

As an Australian, the concept of summer camp is as elusive as it is romantic, the stuff of girlhood in motion à la The Parent Trap or The Baby-Sitters Club.

But the desire to reconnect with one’s inner child feels universal right now. How else do you explain the parents feverishly collecting monster-faced Labubus? Or the rise of “school excursions for adults” via clubs and communities? Nostalgic hobbies are resurging – crochet, pottery, papercraft – and new studies suggest play is as fundamental to an adult’s livelihood as good nutrition and sleep.

In a world of overwhelm, the case for being a “kidult” is strong. Camp Château was the brainchild of British born, US-based Philippa Girling, a former top-level banking exec, her best friend, Lynda Coleman, and Girling’s daughter, Leah Lykins.

Their vision was to create a place where women and people who identify as women could just be. “We didn’t want it to feel like a corporate off-site – no forced fun, obligations or expectations,” says Girling. Adds Lykins, “And it’s not a self-development retreat.

Self-development is actually work, right? For women, there are really limited spaces where you don’t have any requirements other than to just play. You’re not tasked with self-improvement or any kind of remarkable, perfect adventure.”

With that in mind, I make my way to the electives sign-up sheet and scribble my name next to jam-making. Given I have no aspirations to be the next Nara Smith or Meghan Markle, it seems suitably removed from personal growth.

Though I wonder how they would fare in the inhibition busting warm-up activity, led by a bubbly camp counsellor who has us step-clapping in a circle chanting, “What’s my jam?!” We go on to make apricot confiture using tangy orange fruits plucked straight from the trees, and later spread it on buttery croissants.

We eat picnic-style on the ground that’s bursting with daisies and dahlias … which we’ll later forage for and turn into flower crowns. And so the cycle of camp life goes. Over the week, opportunities abound for goofiness and good wholesome fun.

There’s a silent disco under the stars, which sees a circle of women aged somewhere between 20 and 80 dancing with wild abandon to “Pink Pony Club” and “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”. The mood in the air is akin to that of a Taylor Swift concert: glittery, joyful, cringy in a good way.

“I’ve had men say to me, ‘We should create something like this for men,’” says Girling, who spent her banking career persevering through patriarchal barriers. “And I say to them, ‘Absolutely you can, nothing’s stopping you.’” Chimes in Coleman, “The world is their camp.”

In the warm bubble of the château, I notice that conversations between women feel different. Defining topics in the outside world – namely, careers and men – seem to slip to the side.

“We don’t really ask people what they do for work,” the kind-eyed American, a return camper, advised me on my first day. Later, I find out she’s a high-flying international marketing consultant.

Another camper works for Planned Parenthood, and a few have risen through the ranks of Wall Street – but those are probably the least interesting things about these women.

Instead, we talk about romantasy novels and Saturn returns; ADHD diagnoses and divorce; wanting to have kids; not wanting to have kids; past adventures and plans to return and reunite, like any good summer camp.

Perhaps the beauty of cosplaying as a kid is not just in eschewing responsibilities and chasing wonder, but in reconnecting with who we were before jobs, partners and families of our own shaped us.

One camper shares that on the last day of the week, she looked in the mirror and saw herself for the first time in years. “We didn’t intend for [the camp] to be a transformative experience,” says Girling.

“Women are already awesome. They don’t need to work on themselves. They need space and a break. The camp is for them to see themselves and love what they see.

It doesn’t necessarily require a big journey, it just happens. It’s actually in you. All you need is space. And badges.” I collect 15 Girl Guide-style badges during my stay.

They’re handed out each evening in a peppy all-American ceremony that feels like I’ve been plonked into one of those US tween movies.

There’s one for Watercolour Painting. For Jam Making and for Wine Tasting. For Film Night and Taking a Nap. My favourite is for Body Movement. The elective takes place in a sunlit castle garret and only five of us turn up. We’re taken through a series of interpretative dance exercises, undulating our bodies like swaying trees and cats tiptoeing on the creaky floorboards, stifling giggles whenever we catch one another’s eyes.

Suddenly, again, I’m an awkward teenager – not looking for a place to sit, but frolicking about playfully, laughing uncontrollably in drama class. And this time, it feels really good.

As each year draws to a close, there’s one event that we look forward to. Of course, we’re talking about the long-awaited Christmas lunch, where we can finally close ours laptop and toast to another year while indulging in an afternoon of fine wine and food.

For the marie claire and ELLE Australia teams this year, it was extra special. Instead of an (admittedly lovely) evening of champagne, we clocked off early and walked down to The Charles Brasserie & Bar. From the moment we opened the door, we were whisked into a festive bubble, complete with fine French dining (appropriate for two French fashion magazines) under flickering candlelight.

Located on King Street in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, The Charles is the kind of restaurant where old world hospitality meets contemporary style. The dining room itself is opulent without being fussy — think, a grand European brasserie reimagined for Sydney. Upon sitting down, we were treated to the kind of service we always prefer, that is, being presented with a glass of wine near-immediately. From there, the team delivered service with warmth and style, making us feel simultaneously spoiled and completely at ease.

We settled in, working our way through The Charles’ menu of French-inspired classics. The conversation flowed as easily as the wine, punctuated by the arrival of beautifully executed dishes that reminded us why taking the time to connect over a meal is what the holiday season is really about.

Then came the moment we’d been anticipating: the dessert trolley. This isn’t just any dessert service, but a roving spectacle of house-baked cakes, pastries and petit-fours that rolls directly to your table. For December, the trolley has been transformed by Etymon Group Head of Pastry Rhiann Mead into a festive delight. “Reimagining [the dessert trolley] for Christmas is our way to capture the holiday joy and give diners a moment of pure indulgence that stays true to The Charles signature style and flair,” explains Mead.

The trolley is overflowing with handcrafted creations, each one more tempting than the last. The Gingerbread Russian Honey Cake caught our eye immediately, alongside the theatrical Black Forest Bûche de Noël with its layers of chocolate mousse, sponge, and cherry jam. There were also whimsical touches — Snowman Macarons filled with coconut ganache and passionfruit gel, and Bauble Bonbons with white chocolate and peppermint ganache that looked almost too beautiful to eat.

The trolley experience itself is pure theatre, combining nostalgia with indulgence in a way that feels quintessentially festive. As we made our selections and savoured each bite, the afternoon stretched on in the best possible way. No rushing back to emails, no checking the time — just the luxury of being present with good people, good food, and the shared relief that another year was complete.

The 2026 horoscopes mark a year of powerful turning points, personal reckonings and long-awaited breakthroughs for every star sign.

Across the zodiac, eclipses, retrogrades and major planetary shifts ask you to shed outdated identities, step into your truth and realign with what truly matters.

From bold new beginnings to deep healing and renewed confidence, 2026 is less about rushing ahead and more about moving with intention. Each sign is called to trust its path, honour growth and build a future that feels deeply aligned.

Aries

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: I live in truth, anchored in reality.

2026 Horoscope Aries
Image: Inga Campbell

This is your year of crystal-clear vision and claiming your throne. Saturn and Neptune’s merger strips away any illusions and this reality check allows you to see exactly what’s been blocking your path: outdated narratives, toxic patterns or maybe certain people.

May’s blue moon offers a do-over on a course or dream trip you previously couldn’t afford. In October, Venus’ retrograde awakens your psychic powers. If you can dream it, you can do it in 2026.

Taurus

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: My wounds become my wisdom; scars become my strength.

2026 Horoscope Taurus

This is your year of deep healing and earned wisdom. You have weathered cosmic storms and now Uranus takes its final bow in your sign before exiting in April, leaving you with crystal-clear direction and focus.

A profound turning point arrives in June, when Chiron enters your sign. That part of yourself you’ve kept hidden or felt was broken? You’re about to meet it with newfound strength.

Gemini

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: My truth is my compass, my voice is my power.

2026 Horoscope Gemini

This is your year of family connection and finding your voice. You enter January feeling the squeeze of outdated roles and obligations that block potential.

April brings sweet relief when freedom-loving Uranus arrives in your sign, helping you to reclaim your independence and live on your own terms. Add Jupiter blazing into your communication zone midyear and your voice becomes a force. You’re backing what moves your soul, and saying what others won’t. The right people take notice, and show their respect.

Cancer

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: I step outside my comfort zone with confidence.

2026 Horoscope Cancer

This is your year of learning and sexual exploration. Mercury broadens your horizons and wanderlust strikes, but you’re hungry for more than just tourist snapshots; you’re feeding your mind through courses and books.

Jupiter spends the first half of the year blessing you with protection and growth. When it moves on midyear, you keep a little of the luck it left behind. Armed with newfound confidence, you’re taking bigger risks and loving it.

Leo

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: I turn momentum into magic.

2026 Horoscope Leo

This is your year of golden opportunities and rising to meet your potential. June brings one of the decade’s biggest shifts when Jupiter enters your sign for the first time in 12 years.

Opportunities multiply, you magnetise luck and doors swing open. Just don’t coast. Jupiter rewards the brave, so show up, shine and take the lead. December’s retrograde gives you a chance to plan your next move.

Virgo

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: I embody confidence, poise, and a style that reflects my inner beauty.

2026 Horoscope Virgo

This is your year of reinvention and visibility. The lunar eclipse in your sign triggers a total image overhaul. You’re redefining your personal style or rebranding your professional presence. But this runs deeper than just your aesthetic.

Your authentic self is radiating from your core. Whether it’s your face or your brand, how you present yourself becomes a magnet for the success you’re so ready for in 2026.

Libra

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: I am the maker of my own masterpiece.

2026 Horoscope Libra

This is your year of personal growth and celebration. The early months hum along like you’re on cruise control. Then April’s full moon charges in with champagne celebrations for a milestone or networking event where you own the room.

You may also create something beautiful, such as a piece of art or perhaps the deeper work of shaping yourself. October’s new moon in your sign marks a turning point that starts with releasing what’s outlived its purpose.

Scorpio

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: I magnetise meaningful connections.

2026 Horoscope Scorpio

This is your year of spiritual exploration and emotional depth. Jupiter spends the first half of 2026 pulling you away from superficial people and mindless scrolling. You’re starving for substance.

By October, Mercury leads you towards an exciting new passion. Magic and mystical practices may become your thing. Venus shares her beauty secrets in November, but your glow-up may demand some downtime. By December, you’re ready to shine.

Sagittarius

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: I am the hero of my own story.

2026 Horoscope Sagittarius

This is your year of body wisdom and second chances. February’s eclipse floods your brain with brilliant ideas. Pluto’s retrograde exposes a secret, but there’s freedom in naming what’s unsaid.

May’s blue moon resurrects old body-image battles, but this time you’re making peace with your reflection. Jupiter takes over the year’s second half, whisking you away via a bucket-list adventure or epic book series. Life gets delicious.

Capricorn

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: In sacred stillness, I design my future.

2026 Horoscope Capricorn

This is your year of restoration and rebirth. Saturn makes silence and solitude your secret weapon as you find your centre. You’re processing last year’s lessons and deciding what comes next. Journalling becomes your therapist, vision boards your blueprint.

May’s blue moon finds you on a retreat, trading stress for forest trails, organic food and connection. As the year ends, you emerge luminous and laser-focused on your direction.

Aquarius

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: I trust my destiny and follow my true north.

2026 Horoscope Aquarius

This is your year of surrender and following your true north. February feels like one of those dreams where you’re calling out but your voice is silenced. Wait until April, when the new moon empowers your words. The eclipses in your sign bring fated new beginnings in 2026, tearing down what’s already crumbling so you can rebuild on solid ground. From July, the North Node illuminates your true north. Let it guide you.

Pisces

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: I build my empire one brave step at a time.

2026 Horoscope Pisces

This is your year of courage and course correction. The eclipses in your sign leave you grounded with laser focus on your future.

March’s new moon delivers a fresh start that rebuilds your confidence. Sure, you’ll wobble a bit, but take baby steps, embrace the butterflies and keep moving forward. Trust your gut feeling in September – it’s spot on. By December, you are headed exactly where you want to go.

YOUR 2026 MANTRA: In sacred stillness, I design my future.

POWER DATES: January 9, January 19, June 30, December 22

Your 2026 horoscopes on love, career and life are below…

Romance and Relationships

Neptune blurs family boundaries in February, forcing you to spell out what you’ll tolerate and what you won’t. Couples, after June, Jupiter supercharges your libido, and the Kama Sutra becomes your favourite bedtime reading, seducing you into new erotic territories. Your inner sex goddess is ready to explore. Singles, Chiron heals old heartbreak and love stops feeling like a minefield. You’re opening up again.

Cash and Career

February’s full moon brings financial relief, helping you clear stubborn debt. If you have an investment portfolio, a windfall arrives. Come July, the North Node declares your apprenticeship over. Opportunities that command premium rates start finding you. Power positions materialise as your leadership prowess commands attention. When Venus turns direct in November, a shrewd female alliance becomes your golden ticket.

Health and Happiness

Uranus sends your wellness routine on a roller coaster. Monday’s green smoothies become Friday’s pizza marathon. Find the middle ground and remember that small habits done consistently move the needle. May’s blue moon creates space for healing emotional wounds or past trauma. If previous attempts fell short, this lunation has real potential. By December, you’re standing stronger and radiating vitality.

POWER DATES: January 20, March 19, August 28, September 23

Your 2026 horoscopes on love, career and life are below…

Romance and Relationships

Uranus rewrites family rules and you either break free from exhausting patterns or reconnect with someone after years of silence. Couples navigating March’s lunar eclipse curveball should expect surprise proposals, ex-partners reappearing or sudden relocations. Jupiter sees singles recognise their worth, but early 2026 serves up casual flings over serious commitments. When Neptune turns direct in December, your intuition becomes razor sharp.

Cash and Career

Watch your spending in February. You might overestimate your funds. Venus retrograde illuminates your financial reality, showing where to save and spend. November brings smooth talkers peddling instant wealth schemes. Hard pass. May’s blue moon resurrects missed opportunities, giving you a second chance at the job that got away or
a business idea you shelved. By Christmas, your efforts pay off with a gorgeously extravagant splurge.

Health and Happiness

March’s solar eclipse tests your confidence, triggering doubts you thought were behind you. But Jupiter enters your health zone from June, supercharging your energy and strengthening your resolve. You are conquering new challenges and feeling powerful. Just remember to pace yourself. August’s North Node brings up old insecurities, but you know the antidote: saying your fears out loud strips them of their power.

POWER DATES: March 14, May 2, September 10, November 9

Your 2026 horoscopes on love, career and life are below…

Romance and Relationship

Relationships built on convenience, bank accounts or chemistry alone face their expiration date. April’s Uranus forces the question: is this your forever?

Solid couples take a sabbatical, chase a lifestyle sea change or decide it’s baby time. Singles, August’s lunar eclipse delivers a soulmate with staying power. Family karma peaks when the North Node repairs broken bridges or burns them forever.

Cash and Career

Financial turbulence settles down when Uranus exits your money zone in April. Overdue payments arrive and you clear chunks of debt. May’s blue moon offers a second shot at your dream job or side hustle.

When Jupiter crowns your career sector in late June, you’re playing in bigger leagues with higher stakes. Expect support from influential players. If you run your own business, expansion into new markets becomes possible.

Health and Happiness

Saturn and Neptune’s February alliance brings a wellness reality check. What you uncover becomes your superpower. April’s full moon reveals a remedy in the form of a practitioner or treatment that brings visible results, such as more energy and clearer skin.

In July, Neptune’s retrograde warns you not to skimp on sleep. By November, Venus shows you that your happiness has nothing to do with impressing other people.

POWER DATES: February 2, June 30, July 21, August 13

Your 2026 horoscopes on love, career and life are below…

Romance and Relationships

February’s solar eclipse marks a relationship turning point, when one of you levels up in life or career. This either catapults you into #powercouple status or highlights the need for more breathing room.

Single? May’s blue moon brings an ex floating back or reawakens feelings you thought you had filed away, but it’s not an invitation to hit replay. Friendship-wise, a wildcard enters your social set in May, who introduces you to radical ideas.

Cash and Career

The career fog lifts by the end of April, revealing a vocational calling that feels purposeful and aligned. Healing, healthcare and teaching roles see nurturing Leos shine.

Work travel increases, with some preparing for an international move. When opportunities to upskill appear, grab them with both hands. Money-wise, eclipses in March and August bring highs and lows. Practise restraint when the urge to splurge strikes.

Health and Happiness

Jupiter’s early retrograde through your mental health zone brings overthinking marathons and wobbly confidence. But once it enters your sign? Game changer. You quit the approval-seeking circus, and solitude feels like luxury. Physically, Jupiter acts like a vitality shot.

You’re less prone to burnout, bounce back faster from illness and feel more energised. Just don’t overdo it. Healthy balance will see you thrive.

Your 2026 horoscopes on love, career and life are below…

Romance and Relationships

January’s new moon delivers a lovely new addition through a pregnancy announcement or a rescue pup. June transforms you into a friendship magnet for positive people.

By October, Venus’ backspin prompts a deep reflection on love. Committed couples revisit a major purchase or life decision, while rocky relationships face the compatibility test. Singles discover that self-love beats settling.

Cash and Career

Venus warns against overspending in the first half of the year, especially if a broken appliance or sudden travel forces you to dip into savings. Relief arrives as Uranus exits your money zone in April, stabilising a volatile investment or settling a loan.

October’s budget review becomes your reset button, with pressure easing by November. Best of all, Jupiter plays career fairy godmother, opening doors through supportive connections and introducing a savvy mentor with timely advice.

Health and Happiness

The work you’ve done to support your wellbeing pays dividends in 2026. But if you’ve been running on empty or ignoring warning signs, March’s eclipse becomes your wake-up call.

Venus’ October retrograde unearths what still needs healing. Whether through therapy, solitude or journalling, you regain your strength. By year’s end, you’ve become someone you’re proud to be.

POWER DATES: January 3, March 11, May 31, December 24.

Your 2026 horoscopes on love, career and life are below…

Romance and Relationships

April’s full moon brings the potential for family drama, but compromise becomes your secret weapon. A free-spirited friend coaxes your rebellious side out to play in May. Mercury’s October retrograde has singles falling hard for someone who stimulates their mind and body. This is intellectual foreplay at its finest. At the same time, Pluto turns up the heat for couples, taking intimacy to intoxicating new levels.

Cash and Career

Saturn and Neptune team up to make you question your career and where your life is heading. This planetary push guides you towards work that nourishes your soul. February’s solar eclipse demands a snap decision about shared money or debts. Then knowledge becomes power as you master money moves with budgeting apps, investment books and podcasts. Keep playing it smart because December’s full moon in your sign brings cash rewards for those who stay sharp.

Health and Happiness

May’s blue moon delivers a health or fitness victory, whether that’s building strength after injury or reaching a personal best. But Uranus is messing with your sleep patterns, so protect your zzz. Blue light is your enemy at bedtime, and caffeine needs an earlier curfew (yes, that includes your beloved chocolate). Your body knows what it needs, so trust its signals.

Romance and Relationship

Family shifts are written in your stars, from children moving out to a parent moving in. When February exposes a friend’s true colours, you raise the bar on who gets your time. April’s full moon brings romance on steroids, with declarations of love and commitment on the table for singles. May’s blue moon resurrects a shelved dream for couples.

Health and Happiness

If 2025 sent you exploring alternative wellness paths, 2026 brings clarity about what truly nourishes you. Your body has its own wisdom.
