People We Meet On Vacation is the first in a slew (five currently confirmed, to be exact) Emily Henry adaptations coming to our screens and we now have our first look at the highly-anticipated film in a new trailer.

On the first watch (of many) it’s safe to say that the chemistry between our two leads, Poppy (played by Emily Bader) and Alex (played by Tom Blyth) is seriously sizzling.

Moreover, the backdrops for the film – a vision of dreaming holiday destinations – serves as the perfect summer holiday watch. Then, there’s the stacked supporting cast including Lukas Gage, Lucien Laviscount, Jameela Jamil, Alan Ruck, Alice Lee, Sarah Catherine Hook and Molly Shannon.

For those yet to dive into Henry’s catalogue, People We Meet On Vacation is her second adult romance (following her stint publishing a number of YA books) and was first released in 2021.

The novel follows travel journalist, Poppy, and her best-friend, Alex, as they reconnect after two years apart to reignite their yearly tradition of a summer trip.

As the story unfolds, the truth about what first drove the friends apart slowly unravels – along with the fragile thread still holding their friendship together.

The official synopsis reads: “Free-spirited Poppy and routine-loving Alex have been unlikely best friends for a decade, living in different cities but spending every summer vacation together. The careful balance of their friendship is put to the test when they begin to question what has been obvious to everyone else — could they actually be the perfect romantic match?
