The annual event has become a hotbed of memes and musical reflection that instantly floods our feeds. Some brag that they outlistened their fellow Taylor Swift fans by making it into the top percent of listeners, others just want to share their impossibly cool taste in obscure indie bands.
Wherever you fall in the Spotify Wrapped sharing scale, it’s a day that’s become highly significant to the online generation.
Only adding to the suspense and anticipation of the yearly musical event is the fact Spotify Wrapped could take place at any moment and many believe that moment is tomorrow, December 4.
When Is Spotify Wrapped 2025?
There’s no set, annual date for Spotify Wrapped’s release, nor does the music streaming platform tell listeners in advance when it’s coming. BUT, many believe Spotify Wrapped 2025 will drop this week, leaving only December 4th and December 5th remaining as viable options.
According to Forbes, who took into account the “release pattern of the last four years, a Wednesday launch on Dec. 3, 2025, is the most likely scenario.”
With that date now passed, December 4th is looking highly plausible, particularly when you factor in the site favouring in a mid-week drop, with Thursday the second-most popular launch date.
Last year, Spotify Wrapped dropped relatively late, landing on December 4th. In 2023 it was November 29th; in 2022, it arrived on November 30th and In 2021, it was released on December 1st.

In another positive sign, Spotify has started telling users to update their app in anticipation of Wrapped’s release.
“Get the updated app to experience 2025 Wrapped at its best,” the website reads.
Just hours ago, Spotify also shared a post to their Instagram telling users to prepare for the 2025 Wrapped.
“Are you #SpotifyWrapped ready? Make sure to update your app today. Wrapped is on the way soon!” it reads.
When Does Spotify Wrapped Stop Collecting Data?
Wondering if your favourite track will be counted towards your 2025 Spotify Wrapped? Following speculation that Spotify only counts data up until October 31, the platform has since cleared up any confusion.
“We extended our Clips deadline for 2024 Wrapped to November 20,” Spotify revealed last year. It’s expected to follow a similar deadline of mid-November in 2025.
In 2024, Taylor Swift unsurprisingly took out the most streamed artist, followed by The Weeknd and Bad Bunny, while the most streamed song went to ‘Espresso’ by Sabrina Carpenter. We’ll just have to wait and see (hopefully soon) who takes out the top spots for 2025.
