It’s time to head back to Maxton Hall College for season two of the hit series and we’ve never wanted to return to study quite so much.
The last time we saw Ruby and James, they’d finally succumb to their simmering tension, leaning into their feelings to become a serious couple.
But just when all seems right in the world, everything gets turned on its head. In the final episode it was revealed James’ mum dies suddenly from a stroke not just devastating James and his twin sister but leaving them in the hands of their cold and unrelenting father.
As season one came to a close we saw James seek Ruby out for comfort only to pause at her window and watch as she spent time with her happy family. That tiny glimmer of a fracture looks as though it could lead to seismic cracks in their new relationship as we head into season two.
When Is Maxton Hall Season Two Released In Australia?
Unlike its first season which premiered all at once, new episodes of Maxton Hall season two will be released on Prime Video in a staggered drop. Episodes one, two and three will premiere in Australia on November 7th, with weekly episodes to follow every Friday. We expect episodes to drop on the streaming site in Australia at 5pm AEDT and 3pm in Western Australia.

What Happens In Season Two?
The official synopsis for the sophomore season of Maxton Hall reads: “Those who fly high can also fall low…After their passionate night together in Oxford and her greatest life goal within reach, everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten). But a stroke of fate in James’ (Damian Hardung) family changes everything and James himself, of all people, brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality.”
The second season is based on the second book in the series on which the show is based, so there are spoilers out there for those who seek them. Frankly, it’s not us. We’ll be settling in with popcorn, waiting to be surprised.
