After months of anticipation, Australia’s inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor has finally arrived, and with it, the heartbreak that comes with every rose ceremony.
In the highly anticipated premiere, viewers were introduced to 61-year-old Barry “Bear” Myrden, a Sydney-based infrastructure engineer and father of three, as he met the 20 women hoping to win his heart.
Hosted by Samantha Armytage, the new series follows the widowed engineer as he steps bravely back into the dating world, more than a decade after losing his wife in 2011.
Speaking with marie claire, Samantha shared that all of the women were “spectacular in their own way,” adding that “there was a real camaraderie on set where the women looked out for each other.”
Bear, too, has been candid about how emotional the journey has been. “They’re all such great and incredible women,” he told SkyNews.com.
“It was really tough to say goodbye to any of them. I wanted to take all 20 of them.”
Of course, heartbreak is part and parcel of the Bachelor world. There will be tears, roses and more than a few dramatic pauses. As Bear searches for his forever love, Australia will be watching closely to see who gets the final rose and who’s sent packing in that all-too-familiar limousine of heartbreak.
Who Left The Golden Bachelor In 2025?
Your complete list of the eliminated contestants.
Kim
Hometowns week on The Golden Bachelor brought drama, daughter interrogation, and a psychic reading. Sunny confessed her love, only for Bear to awkwardly respond “Ugh, really!” before failing a feminism pop quiz from her daughter.
Dr Kim’s edgy Brisbane date crashed and burned, while Janette’s psychic friend saw promise. Kim was sadly sent home, leaving Sunny and Janette as the last ones standing. Who will Bear choose in South Africa?
Jan
After securing a date with Bear following the episode’s dance class, Jan joined him for a romantic evening at the Opera House to watch Sleeping Beauty. Moved to tears by the performance, she told the camera, “It’s really nice to receive something so special, just for me.”
Sadly, by the end of the episode, Jan missed out on a rose.
Gera
It was also the end of the road for Gera, leaving Sunny, Janette and Kim as the final three.
Terri
Episode six delivered major drama. After Sunday night’s cliffhanger—when Terri announced she wouldn’t accept Bear’s rose—the women were left reeling.
Cut back to the rose ceremony, Terri tells Bear she doesn’t want to “get hurt” before turning on her heel and disappearing into the night.
Shamse
After Terri’s dramatic exit, four women were left without roses, including Shamse, who sadly didn’t make the cut this week.
Elizete
Elizete was also sent packing in the fifth rose ceremony.
Pip
Pip was among the five women who departed the mansion during the fifth rose ceremony.
Bianca
We’ll definitely miss Bianca’s comedic flair. Though she was chosen by Bear during the horse-riding date in episode three, their connection never quite took off, and she was ultimately sent home.
Catherine
Later on, for the episode’s second rose ceremony, Bear farewelled Catherine.
Lauren
You can’t say Lauren didn’t try. After multiple attempts to get closer to Bear, he also sent her packing in episode six’s second rose ceremony.
Katrina
Despite an excellent stage performance for the episode’s charity gala, Katrina was sent home in episode four.
Laura
After facing a tough round of questioning from Laura’s daughter, Abbie Chatfield, who also happens to be a former Bachelor contestant, Bear seemed to realise he couldn’t string Laura along any longer.
Sadly, she was sent home in episode four.
Hamidah
Episode three was nothing short of a whirlwind — from topless horse rides and a one-on-one puppy yoga date to an emotional, heart-warming ladies’ lunch. Sadly, we said goodbye to Hamidah, though not before her hilarious take on the chaos of online dating.
Linda
Queensland stylist and mother of three, Linda, missed out on a rose at the second ceremony.
Nicolette
Alongside Linda, Nicolette was eliminated on night two.
Jane
Jane, an interior designer from New South Wales, was another unlucky contender who sadly went home on night one.
Shana
New South Wales–based Shana was also sent home on the first night.
Angela
The 52-year-old mum was sadly eliminated in the first rose ceremony.
