From Rihanna’s iconic sky-high pregnancy announcement and Kendrick Lamar throwing shade at Drake to Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction and Gaga falling out of the sky, the halftime shows are renowned for creating some of the most memorable and meme-able moments of the game.
Now, we know who will be gracing the stage come halftime at the 2026 Superbowl: Bad Bunny.
Who Is Performing The 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show?
The 2026 Superowl Halftime show will be performed by none other than Puerto Rican artists, Bad Bunny. The multi-hyphenate (singer, rapper, songwriter, actor and yes, wrestler) has had a huge few years thanks to an astronomical rise to fame, a plethora of Grammy wins and acting roles.
The news was revealed in a joint announcement on Instagram between NFL, Rock Nation, Apple Music and the artist, on September 28 (U.S. time) during the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys game.
The short clip opens on Bad Bunny’s face before swiftly zooming out to reveal he’s sitting on football posts, the caption reading: “Super Bowl LX. Bay Area. February 2026.”
Who Was Rumoured To Perform At The 2026 Superbowl?
Adele
Despite Adele’s previous comments in 2016 that she had turned down the Super Bowl because “that show is not about music … I don’t dance or anything like that”, it seemed the British Singer might have had a change of heart.
Multiple media outlets recently claimed that Adele and her team were in talks to headline the 2026 halftime show.
Adele might have her doubts about delivering a spectacle to a live audience of over 100,000, but we’re confident her powerful vocals could command any crowd. Maybe next year.
Taylor Swift
Swifts connection to NFL circles (including through her partner Travis Kelce) might make her an obvious contendor for next years show, but fans had other theories.
Long before her headline-making romance with Travis, Taylor had a history of teaming up with the NFL to drop surprises. Her track “…Ready For It?” debuted during a college football game teaser in 2017, and in 2022 she used a Saints vs. Cardinals matchup to unveil a Midnights teaser.
Speculation hit overdrive, though, when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell fanned the flames during a September 3 appearance on The Today Show. Calling Swift a “special, special talent,” he said she’d be welcome “at any time” — and even hinted she might “maybe” headline the halftime show.
Miley Cyrus
On September 17, a fan post by @transleytanked went viral claiming that “Apple Music seems to be teasing that Miley Cyrus will headline the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show.”
While the post was later ruled as speculation rather than a credible leak, the internet was still confident Cyrus has what it takes.
With nearly twenty years of hits behind her, she’s enjoying a career peak: her global smash “Flowers” finally earned her a long-overdue Grammy and a recently released a deluxe edition of her ambitious pop-opera album Something Beautiful.
She’s also no stranger to the NFL stage. During her Plastic Hearts era, Miley headlined TikTok’s Tailgate pre-show for essential workers at the 2021 Super Bowl in Tampa, performing alongside Joan Jett and Billy Idol.
Jay-Z
A surprising wild card in the mix was Jay-Z. While he’s stepped back from the stage in recent years, his influence looms large behind the scenes as the head of Roc Nation, the NFL’s official halftime show partner.

Across several of the major betting sites pop queen Chappell Road was tying with Miley Cyrus as possible Halftime performers.
Fresh off winning the Best New Artist Grammy, Roan offers a bold aesthetic, a devoted fanbase, and the potential to deliver a visually striking performance that goes beyond just music.
Metallica
In an interview with Howard Stern on August 6, 2025 the interviewer asked Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich about his interest in headlining the Super Bowl halftime show.
Ulrich replied, “fuck yeah, of course we would,” and pointing out that doing the show in San Francisco — their adopted home base — “would be a dream come true.”
Adding momentum to the rumour, Usher, a recent Super Bowl halftime performer, publicly voiced that he hopes Metallica takes the slot in 2026.
