For those playing at home, here in Australia, this time the total lunar eclipse is one you’ll actually see. Becoming visible in the pre-dawn hours on Monday September 8, following its central peak for the rest of the world.
But while you’re busy marvelling at the amber glow of our luminary priestess, the Moon. Venus in Leo is still making her own demands in the background. And with it’s nearly month long visit in this sign is only just warming up, bringing with it a burst of creative energy and romantic fire.
This will be a banner month for the Virgo and Pisces sister sign duo, with the celestial slow mover of of Saturn sliding back from me-first Aries into the watery ether of Pisces.
Making our resilience a little foggier and hard to pin down. So the question still remains: what exactly does it all mean for us?
What Is A Blood Moon?
Traditionally, a lunar eclipse is known as a ‘Blood Moon’ receiving its name from its ruby red hue.
A Blood Moon occurs when the Earth directly passes through the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon creating the amber glow we see from our vantage point.
A significant event, the Blood Moon only occurs around twice a year, every three years globally. While the Earth has two lunar eclipses, only a small fraction of these are total lunar eclipses, where we see the red aura cast.

Your Lunar Eclipse Horoscope
While all signs can expect a jolt to the nervous system, it’s the mutable signs of Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces and Gemini that will be really getting to work. In this case, Mercury ruled Virgo and Gemini can expect some communication revelations. Eclipses happen suddenly but the effects are often long lasting, with the Mercury ruled duo expected to feel the effects up to 6 months afterwards.
Virgo
With Virgo taking residence over the 1st house of body and self, there may be an inclination to make some breakthroughs with a new wellness or lifestyle habit. Expect to see change in this space over the coming months. And with the South Node sitting as its cosy next door neighbour, Virgo is ready to get staunch about releasing any daily habits that no longer work.
Gemini
Meanwhile, Gemini will be looking to get clarity where it counts, with their work and their daily routines. A fellow Mercurial sign visiting Virgo’s natal 6th house of work, health and routines means, urgency to spring clean and get organised in the short term, making new habits that feel aligned with their social approach.
A Gemini is nothing if not a sign who loves to flirt with social systems, so be ready to flap those social butterfly wings. This will come into full effect with the second round of eclipses at the end of the month.
Sagittarius & Pisces
As for Sagittarius and Pisces, the effects are still profound. With the 10th house of career and public reputation lighting up for Sagittarius, expect some surprises to hit in the sector where your job is concerned.
This could look like a new venture or side-hustle taking centre-stage. For Pisces, your alone time may be more appealing, you may find yourself in a creative incubator, tending to things quietly behind the scenes.

What Made The April Lunar Eclipse So Unique?
With all eclipses, they tend to carry on the lessons of a previous cycle. Back in 2024, the April 8 Solar Eclipse in Aries was the entry point into a new cycle of selfhood. Astrologer Chani Nicholas nicknamed it the “Chironeclipse“.
With the moon at that time making a tight conjunction to Chrion, our most tender of personal points in the chart. The placement of the Moon in our chart shows us our unique inner world, our relationship to our body and connection to our inner feminine nature. With Chiron and The Moon sharing space here, the wounding may have felt a tad sore, urging us to push through the tough stuff. With Chiron still in headstrong Aries until 2026, this eclipse will be telling us to reclaim our own space, tying off any lose ends. If you’re feeling curious you can look up your Chiron placement here.
What To Takeaway From The Eclipse
Having a break from the cardinal eclipse of the previous year in Aries and Libra feels a little like the welcome reprieve we need. Fear not, as a mutable eclipse is a little less detrimental on the most visible parts of our chart. Prepare to undertake a cycle of renewal that will be rife with personal insights and creative opportunity, after all the Virgo and Pisces axis is all about keeping our diary organised and our dream journal flowing with all of our dreamy downloads.
