Millie Bobby Brown doesn’t want anyone poking around or asking questions about her baby. At least, that’s what she made clear when British Vogue tried to ask about her daughter.
The 21-year-old actress, who stars in the upcoming fifth and final season of Stranger Things (set to drop in late November), has had more than a few tense encounters with the press this year. Back in March, during her Electric State promo tour, she called out journalists for their harsh commentary — including speculation that she’d had plastic surgery and claims she looked “decades older”.
More recently, Millie’s name has been dragged back into headlines amid allegations that her co-star David Harbour bullied her on set. The claims only added fuel to the ongoing media storm surrounding Harbour, who’s been vilified in the wake of Lily Allen’s West End Girl album, which paints him as an adulterer and “sex addict”.
So, it’s no wonder Millie’s drawing a hard line when it comes to her child. When asked to describe her daughter’s personality, she told Vogue:
“I’m not going to [do that]. For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself.”
“It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly. If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support. But right now, as she’s so little… As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that.”

She’s equally firm about privacy, saying she won’t reveal her daughter’s name until “she’s ready to decide for herself”.
These days, Millie lives on a quiet farm with her husband, actor-producer Jake Bongiovi, Jon Bon Jovi’s son. Married at 20 and a mum at 21, she’s copped plenty of criticism for racing through life milestones, but she’s not losing sleep over it.
“I’m 21. I’ve still got so much more in me. I treat every day like it’s going to disappear.”
“If I’m gonna be your punching bag, it’s almost like I’m the right person for it. Because I don’t care anymore.”
