After more than two decades in the spotlight and over 26 years of marriage to David Beckham, Victoria Beckham has a message for anyone who ever doubted their relationship would last.

Appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast with host Alex Cooper, the fashion designer and former Spice Girl opened up about the scrutiny surrounding her marriage to the football icon, including long-standing rumours of an affair in 2004.

What Did Victoria Beckham Say About David’s Affair?

“We’ve had so much thrown at us,” she told Cooper.

“We were talking about it because we’ve recently celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary. By the way, people said it wouldn’t work. 26 years! We’ve had so much thrown at us, and we’ve always just been there together and ridden the storm.”

The candid moment came after Cooper asked how Victoria has navigated years of public “speculation” about her relationship, a reference to long-standing rumours involving David’s former assistant, Rebecca Loos, who alleged an affair in 2004.

The Beckhams, who married in 1999 and share four children, have weathered their share of tabloid storms but have remained steadfast in their commitment to one another.

What Has David Beckham Said About The Affair?

David reflected on that challenging period in his 2023 Netflix docuseries Beckham, saying: “Victoria is everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters, and at that time we needed to fight for each other. We needed to fight for our family, and what we had was worth fighting for. But ultimately, it’s our private life.”

In the same documentary, Victoria shared that despite standing by her husband, she “resented” him when the “nightmare” allegations first made headlines, admitting it was one of the lowest points in their marriage.

“It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us. We were against each other if I’m being completely honest,” Victoria revealed.

The conversation with Alex Cooper follows her own docuseries, Victoria Beckham, where she spoke openly about her experience with an eating disorder and the realities of fame and family life.
