Here we are again, faced with reignited feud speculation between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber.
When it comes to this neverending narrative, I’m tired. Aren’t you?
Netizens have been pitting the two women against one another for years thanks to their mutual romantic link to Hailey’s now husband, Justin Bieber.
In 2023, it was a brow lamination mishap for Hailey, shared on Instagram via a screenshot of a FaceTime call with BFF Kylie Jenner, that the internet became convinced was a slight on Selena.
Then, came their competing beauty brands, Rhode and Rare Beauty, that consistently serve as kindling for feud talk.
It’s the latter that’s once again sparked conversation about the rumoured rift between Hailey and Selena.

In a feature with The Wall Street Journal, published on October 14, Bieber was asked about Rhode launching into Sephora, where the brand would sit alongside competitors.
““I think there is space for everybody. I don’t feel competitive with people that I’m not inspired by,” Bieber answered.
It was that simple statement that some interpreted as a dig at Selena. However, later in the interview the WSJ pressed further asking if the Rhode founder was nervous of comparisons being drawn to Selena.
The interviewer noted that Hailey was told to skip the question by a publicist, but later said: “It’s always annoying being pitted against other people. I didn’t ask for that.”
“When people want to see you a certain way and they’ve made up a story about you in their minds, it’s not up to you to change that.”
Following the comment going viral online, Bieber was forced to clear up any confusion, once again.
“I don’t think that this is about me, Hailey Bieber, and Selena Gomez,” Bieber said during an appearance on Bloomberg’s The Circuit. “This is not about this pitting between two women — it’s about the vile, disgusting hatred that can come from completely made-up and twisted, and perpetuated narratives that can be really dangerous.”
She went on to aptly add: “Time and time again I say there is no issue, and it’s so disappointing that people still behave this way over a man.”
Selena also spoke out about in a since-deleted Instagram story that read: “Just leave the girl alone. She can say whatever she wants …There is a room for everyone. And hopefully we can all stop.”
So, seriously, can we stop now?
