It has been a big week for Nicki Minaj – courtroom filings, social media exposés, and a rap feud reborn. The 42-year-old rapper, long defined by her meticulous self-control and power over narrative, now finds her empire under pressure from all directions – a debt dispute threatening her $20 million mansion, accusations of internal theft, and the latest volley in her never-ending rivalry with Cardi B.

Is Nicki Minaj In Debt?

Court documents filed in Los Angeles this month reveal that Minaj’s 11-bedroom Hidden Hills home could be seized to settle a USD$503,000 judgment awarded to German security guard Thomas Weidenmüller. The debt stems from a 2019 incident in which Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, allegedly punched Weidenmüller backstage, breaking his jaw and leading to eight reconstructive surgeries. Weidenmüller’s lawyers argue the mansion – purchased in 2022 and carrying roughly $6 million in equity after mortgage and exemptions – is more than sufficient to cover the amount owed.

While the legal move sounds dramatic, there’s no real risk of Nicki Minaj losing her $20 million home. She’s estimated to be worth more than $150 million and can clearly afford to pay the judgment in full. The dispute appears to be more about delay and legal posturing than financial strain – and will almost certainly be resolved before it gets anywhere near a foreclosure or forced sale.

Who Stole Nicki Minaj’s Amex?

Good question. As legal teams filed motions, Minaj opened a second front online. In a series of late-night Instagram Stories, she accused several people of stealing from her, charging her American Express card, and even tracking her movements. “A couple of them have been doing it for years,” she wrote. “They’re all going to jail.”

In the posts, Minaj alleged that those involved had used her credit cards for months, making purchases that only came to light after she began investigating discrepancies in her accounts. “They thought I wouldn’t notice,” she wrote. “You’ve been stealing from the wrong one.” She claimed to have filed multiple police reports and suggested that at least one of the suspects had been working with others, describing it as a “whole network of thieves” operating in plain sight.

Minaj also shared screenshots of what appeared to be messages and transaction alerts, adding that one alleged thief had gone so far as to plant a tracking device on her car – a move that ultimately exposed them. “The tracking device led right back to his own phone number,” she posted. “You can’t make this up.”

“Won’t God do it? Yes, he will,” she quipped in another post, before promising her followers that the individuals in question would “soon be in handcuffs.” She ended the series with a warning: “Stealing from me was your first mistake. Thinking I wouldn’t find out was your last.”

Are Nicki Minaj And Cardi B Feuding Again?

The legal drama has unfolded alongside a familiar subplot – the rekindling of Minaj’s feud with Cardi B. The tension reignited after Cardi’s new album Am I the Drama? dropped this summer, laced with what fans interpreted as thinly veiled jabs at Minaj’s recent tour and finances.

Minaj fired back indirectly – reposting fan comparisons of her own chart numbers, and later sharing an image of an eagle, a not-so-subtle metaphor for elevation above “crows,” a motif central to Cardi’s album visuals. Cardi’s retort – “You must’ve missed me, huh? Now kiss my feet” – sent the feud trending once again, proof that neither rapper intends to surrender cultural ground.
