It took a mere matter of hours after the news of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce broke for speculation and discussion to spiral into discourse.
Talk of Nicole “feeling betrayed” and whispers of Keith’s new girlfriend have cannibalised headlines and social feeds before swiftly turning the focus to another name: Maggie Baugh.
And, it’s all thanks to one small moment during one of Keith’s recent concert performances.
Maggie Baugh is a 25-year-old rising country artist and multi-instrumentalist who joined Keith Urban’s High and Alive tour as his “utility player,” performing guitar, fiddle, and backing vocals.
A Florida native, she’s already released original music and has been steadily building her own fan base as an artist.
On September 26, 2025, during a concert on his High and Alive tour, Keith Urban made a lyrical switch in his song “The Fighter” — a track famously tied to his marriage with Nicole Kidman. Instead of singing “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter,” he sang “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player.”
The timing couldn’t have been more combustible given Kidman filed for divorce after 19 years of marriage. It’s worth noting that the on-stage lyric change came days before news of their split was made public.

That viral moment on stage thrust Maggie into the spotlight amid already swirling speculation Urban has a new girlfriend.
There is no confirmed romantic link between the two, but the moment has served as a lightning rod for unwarranted fan backlash much of which has been unfairly focused on Baugh.
“That song was made for Nicole. For him to do that tells us what he’s really all about,” one fan wrote before another added: “Nicole deserves better.”
The moment also seemingly caught Baugh off-guard, sharing the clip to social media with the caption: “Did he just say that 👀”.
