Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have reportedly split, so there goes our faith in true love.
The celebrity couple, who have been married for almost two decades and share two daughters together, have decided to separate.
Sources close to the actress, 58 and country star, 57, confirmed to People, adding: “Nicole’s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another.”
The anonymous source went on to suggest that the choice wasn’t Nicole’s.
“She didn’t want this,” they added. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
According to TMZ, who first broke the news, Nicole and Keith have been living apart “since the beginning of summer.”
The publication’s source echoed that of People’s stating the decision to separate was one-sided.
A second source also told TMZ that “Keith has acquired his own residence in Nashville and has moved out of their family home.”
Nicole and Keith first crossed paths at a G’Day USA Gala in 2005 however both later revealed they didn’t realise their feelings for one another were mutual.
Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, Nicole revealed: “I remember thinking, I had such a crush on him, and he wasn’t interested in me,” Nicole told DeGeneres back, adding, “It’s true! He didn’t call me for four months”.
Just one year later, the couple were tying the knot.
The pair married at the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel in Manly, Australia, with Hugh Jackman and Crowded House singer Neill Finn performing at their ceremony.
On July 7, 2008, the couple announced that they had welcomed their first child, a daughter named Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. Some three years later in 2011, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Faith, via surrogate.
Why Did Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban Separate?
As with any celebrity couple, and subsequent breakup the details of the split between Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban remain private. It’s unlikely we’ll know what led to the split however as reported by People and TMZ, it is reportedly led by Keith.
Of course, without confirmation or comment from the couple (both of which are yet to happen) the public is relying on the word of anonymous sources.
