Nina Dobrev and Shaun White have reportedly split, calling off their engagement just one year after the professional athlete popped the question.
Per People, the couple, who have been together for five years, have decided to go their separate ways.
Sources tell the outlet the split was a “mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another.”
The couple themselves are yet to address the news however fans noted Dobrev was without her engagement ring while on the red carpet of The Toronto Film Festival this week.
The Vampire Diaries star has also noticeably unpinned her engagement post, which has been atop her Instagram page since they announced the news in October of 2024.
Since news of their reported split broke, fans began looking at a recent post from the actress in a new light.
Posted just days prior, Dobrev is seen lip syncing to a TikTok audio clip that says: “What’s your advice for women trying to fix their man? Listen, Bob the Builder, he’s got 10 other women trying to fix him too, and you all look like a damn construction crew.”
Fans immediately attempted to connect the dots, but whether there’s any added meaning behind the post? We’ll likely never know.
White and Dobrev first began dating in 2019 after both appearing at an event as guest speakers.
Love blossomed quickly between the couple who moved in together a year later at the start of the COVID pandemic. Four years later, the Olympic gold medallist popped the question and made the exciting announcement via Instagram
“RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé 💍♾️” Dobrev wrote alongside photos of the moment White got down on one knee.
