Michelle Dockery has made a stunning pregnancy reveal on the red carpet for the upcoming Downton Abbey movie. Dockery, 43, donned a cornflower blue gown as she showed off a baby bump while walking the red carpet in Prada.

The satin Prada dress featured an off-shoulder, crystal embellished strap and fitted bodice, which flowed into a flared skirt. The British actress was joined on the red carpet by her husband, Jasper Waller-Bridge, 37. If you’re thinking that surname sounds familiar, Jasper is the brother of Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Dockery and Waller-Bridge posed hand-in-hand at stops along the carpet, beaming for photographers. This will be the couple’s first child.

Until now, only Dockery’s inside circle knew she was expecting. The actress, most famous for playing Lady Mary Crawley in the Dowton Abbey franchise, has strategically hidden her bump, including in photoshoot

The big announcement was finally made public at the world premiere of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, at London’s Odeon Luxe theatre.

The happy couple didn’t directly address the pregnancy with the awaiting media, instead posing for photos and keeping the focus on the film. Meanwhile, fans piled into the comment section on Instagram to send their congratulations to Dockery.

The pregnancy announcement comes two years after Michelle and Jasper married in London on September 22, 2023. The two began dating in 2019, four years after Dockery’s previous partner, John Dineen, died of cancer at the age of 34.

Dockery tends to keep her private life quiet, but has previously spoken to HELLO! about how her approach to mothering would be vastly different to that of her Downton character. “Mary is not as affectionate as I would be with a baby and I found it really hard,” she said of acting the part in 2013. “I want to cuddle them, but Mary’s practical and that’s the sort of mother she’ll be.”
