When a brand like marie claire turns 30, you might expect champagne toasts, candlelit dinners and a nostalgic flick through old covers. But instead of looking back, the team is turning up the volume – literally. Enter You’re Gonna Want to Hear This, the brand-new podcast from marie claire, hosted by editor Georgie McCourt.
“We didn’t want to mark thirty years quietly,” says McCourt. “Women’s voices deserve more space, more spotlight, more spark. This podcast is about making that space.”

You’re Gonna Want To Hear This Episode Five
This week, we bring you a rare, unfiltered conversation between Cindy Crawford – one of the most photographed women of the past half-century – and Celeste Barber, the comedian and actor who built a global following by challenging the very images women once tried to live up to. It’s warm, sharp and funny.
Crawford doesn’t pretend ageing hasn’t been made unnecessarily complicated for women. “I don’t want to be 20,” she says. “I’m not 30, so why should I look 30? I want to look great for my age. That’s what I want.” Barber nods: “I want to look like me – just a fresh and rested version. I feel better now. I know who I am.”
In a world where ‘anti-ageing’ remains one of beauty’s most stubborn phrases, the two share some honest truths. “Anti-ageing isn’t a thing – it’s a pipe dream,” adds Crawford. She also shares her best beauty tips: “Sunscreen in the day, restoration at night. Maintenance. Respect your face – and respect your audience.”
What makes this episode unmissable isn’t simply the star power – though having a supermodel and a satire queen trade stories across hemispheres is totally iconic – it’s how real they are.
“My looks were never my currency,” Barber says. “If a woman tells me I helped her not hate her arms for thirty seconds, that’s everything.”

Crawford recalls buying three copies of her first major cover and thinking the cashier would recognise her. She didn’t. “Life never changes as much as you think,” she laughs.
“I like knowing myself,” Crawford says. Barber adds: “Getting older has made everything clearer.”
We’ve all seen conversations about ageing. But rarely do we see two women who have shaped global culture – one from inside the machine, one dismantling it – look at each other through a screen and agree that the most interesting chapter is the one they’re living now.
It’s a conversation worth turning the volume up for.
