Pamela Anderson has opened up about the romantic relationship she shared with Liam Neeson, confirming that their connection began after filming wrapped on their summer box-office hit, The Naked Gun.
The actress revealed to People that while the pair developed a bond on set, their relationship only turned romantic once production had ended. Following the end of filming, Anderson and Neeson spent a private and intimate week together at his home in upstate New York.
“If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming,” she told People.
She clarified that she stayed in her own room during the visit and that assistants and even family members were present at various points.
During that time, the two shared a series of sweet, domestic moments. They dined at a small French restaurant where Neeson playfully introduced her as the “future Mrs. Neeson”, and spent time tending to his garden, where Anderson helped restore a rosebush that had become overgrown with mint.
Their brief interlude together culminated in what she calls a “romantic, lost week,” before the pair parted to continue work on separate films.
Romance speculation reignited months later as the two reunited on the promotional trail for The Naked Gun, a reboot of the beloved comedy franchise originally spun from the 1982 TV series Police Squad!.
Throughout the summer, Anderson and Neeson appeared openly affectionate at premieres and public appearances in New York, London and Berlin.
They were also seen joking and flirting in promotional videos for the film, and Anderson was photographed giving Neeson a kiss on the cheek on the red carpet.
According to Anderson, their playful public dynamic was genuine and never intended as a publicity stunt. She has maintained that their feelings were real, and that their connection during the press tour was rooted in affection rather than performance, saying it was “a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film.”
Today, however, she describes their relationship as a close and supportive friendship. “I adore Liam,” Pamela says, “but we are better friends, in full honesty.”
