Dior Lands On Australia’s West Coast: Inside The New Perth Boutique

The Maison makes Perth its latest destination

Christian Dior once said, “My dresses make a princess of every woman.” Now, for the first time, Perth will have its very own palace. On Friday 29 August, the French fashion house opened its inaugural West Coast boutique at 277 Murray Street in the historic Queen’s Building – an arrival that cements Perth’s growing place on the global luxury map.

The opening marks a significant expansion for Dior in Australia. While Sydney and Melbourne have long been home to flagship addresses, Perth’s debut signals a shift: international luxury is chasing the west’s booming cultural and economic energy.

Spread across two luminous floors, the space is a masterclass in Dior’s signature balance of heritage and modernity. The interiors nod to the house’s Parisian roots with soft, light-filled spaces and couture-level detailing – think moulded panelling, muted tones, and curated artworks – while embracing a distinctly Australian ease. Guests will discover the full breadth of Dior’s universe: women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, fine jewellery, and timepieces.

On the women’s floor, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s autumn–winter 2025–26 collection sets the tone – an intelligent conversation between eras, silhouettes, and gender codes. From reimagined Bar jackets to fluid trousers and statement outerwear, it’s a wardrobe that’s both timeless and entirely of the moment. Accessories play their own starring role, with Dior’s iconic Book Tote and Lady Dior bags sitting alongside the season’s new must-have footwear and sunglasses.

For men, Kim Jones’s Winter 2025 offering delivers precisely cut tailoring, exaggerated volumes, and a palette that swings from mineral neutrals to electric accents. It’s a collection that respects Dior’s storied menswear codes while speaking directly to today’s global luxury customer – modern, urban, and quietly confident.

But the real coup de théâtre lies upstairs: a private VIP lounge designed for the brand’s most devoted clients. Plush seating, curated art, and an intimate atmosphere create a setting for one-on-one appointments, private fittings, and exclusive previews. In an era where luxury increasingly means experience, this space offers just that – unhurried moments of discovery far from the retail floor.

The store’s opening is also a love letter to Christian Dior’s passion for travel. As the designer himself expanded the house’s reach in the post-war years – from Paris to New York, London to Tokyo – so too does the brand continue to seek new cultural intersections. Murray Street’s Queen’s Building, with its mix of heritage architecture and city-centre buzz, offers exactly that: a place where Perth’s history and its cosmopolitan future meet.
